my friend works for a alarm system company and they also handle surround sound systems and he wants to get some 10's for his truck and he can get these db drive speakers for cheap from the company order, anyone ever heard or delt with them before?
-
ok, the difference in sound is pretty obvious, but whats the technical difference between making a sq and a spl sub? i mean if all speakers and subs work by the same principles, how is one more accurate than another? just always wondered that , thanks
-
as for the divider question i would say divide it because if one speaker malfunctions the other cant be harmed by trieng to push both or something like that
-
very nice
-
how in any way is that a retarded question, i know the differences between engines and cars for the most part, but i dont about speakers, isnt that the entire reason for the site in the first place? and thanks 95honda for your answer, it does begin to help, i just wanted to know what parts in particular help in designing a speaker or subwoofer for a specific purpose, and why that is
-
how in gods name are you so damned good?
-
very nice, very clean, nice work man
-
go look in the speakers/subwoofer section, they just explained the difference to another guy between passive and active, i had to look myself! =-)
-
well i would much rather use my money for something more efficient

ok i have a 1989 ford ranger super cab and just about all the speakers are busted so obviously ill be upgrading, i know close to nothing about highs, so are there any suggestions, its 4"s in the doors and 6.5"s in the back and ill be making fiberglass panels to fit whichever tweeters i get.
-
good luck!

where does anyone have any suggestions for drivers and a processor, i was thinkin of puttin some midranges in my door, and midbass in some kick panels and then tweeters in the a pillars, and the door size is 4" but i could probably change it accordingly

brista is a nick name i got a while back as a joke i guess and it stuck, and brock is my name
-
oo sorry about that i meant to type processor, but why wouldnt you beable to do it with component sets?
-
well regardless nice build and nice numbers

ok now ive figured that i want to go with a active setup, and probably mount the crossover at the bottom of my dash, can anyone suggest a good set of components? and would a 2 way or 3 way be better for my vehicle?

well, we always say that we are gunna take pictures of our projects, and i wasnt there to help build it but im pretty sure that he was way too lazy to do that lol, sorry, maybe next time on one of our upcoming projects well do it if we remember like when we do mine, 18 facing forward port up, or the 4 15's in a oldmobile, speaker up port towards truck, or the l7 15, speaker forward, port sideways -
i seriously think that that box has more cubes than the inside of my truck lol
