what are you guys opinions on the RE XXX line of subs? are they worth the money or overrated? also, whats the smallest vented enclosure one of those XXX 15" subs can fit in tuned for 30 hz? what type of power is needed to push one?
-
yeah there isnt a war. thats what i like about forums these days...we can have intelligent conversations like grown adults without getting offeended by someones opinion. im looking forward to getting into some more debates with you guys. freedom of expression!

anyone have a good review on those subs? im interested in taking a peak.

yeah, i hear what your saying about Ben and all, but I think he is a really honest person. he will not deny that there are very good speakers on the market other than his own. the main thing that makes sense with me and eD products is the price point. they are very hard to beat considering the warranty and quality of product. i know that first hand from the eDi comps and nine.x series amps... now, if there was a speaker with a 3 year warranty and sounded just as good for less money, im all game. but i refuse to pay $100 more or even the same price for a speaker, amp, or any other peice of sound equipment that doesnt carry the same warranty or doesnt sound much better. i find it very hard to justify buying a "high" end speaker for butt loads of money, that carries a 1 year warranty and doesnt really sound that much different than something i could have gotten from eD. so, i guess thats my deal. its mostly price per performance. where is the justification? P.S. mrray, that weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee just cracks me up everytime i i see it.

who makes the rl-p? does SoundSplinter? also, is it available to the public now?

from what i hear, the O.v2's are pretty efficient drivers. the sound quality is better than the AE series and actually is louder than it. there was a review done over at ICIX you might wanna check out. its found here => http://www.icixsound.com/vb/showthread.php?t=9220 Good luck with that cause I want to know the same thing as you. I am seriously looking into getting the 16O.v2

anyone on this forum have any first hand experience with the O.v2 line of subs. in particular the 16... im looking into getting either it or the IDMax 12 and i wanted to put it in a sealed enclosure. im leaning more toward the sound quality side. its gonna be powered with the nine.1 thanks for any advice!

I need some help guys/gals. I will most likely be running a set of Focal 165K2P comps and a 12" ED kv.2 sub from Elemental Designs. The sub can handle anywhere from 400-900 watts and the 165k2p's are a 200W max speaker although i have been told they can handle every bit of 200W if done correctly. I would like to buy one nice amp to power both the comps and the sub. the first amp i have found that is capable and in my price range is the SoundStream TR800.5. its a 5 channel amp that does 200x2, 400x1 in bridged mode. Amp specs found here>>> http://shop.store.yahoo.com/discave/trsost5chcar.html This seems like the perfect amount of power for the comps and the sub. I was just curious if any of you had any experience with this amp, or an amp/setup similar to what mine will be. any advice or comments are appreciated. Thanks...

ok, well i am so tempted to get the 165k2p's from my local dealer cause i KNOW how awesome they sound. and thats with just the headunit no amp. I cant imagine how good they sound with 200W thrown at them. i think i make a decision, and then some other type of speaker pops up like the Brax Graphic 6 series. this guy is selling his $1400 retail speaker components for 500 shipped! they are only 1 month old too. grrrrrrrrrrrrr.... what to do???
-
For those of you that have owned both pair OR heard both pair in a similar environment please comment on which you prefer and why? I am in the market for a nice set for components, and I am being torn between several sets. A new set just came up... Seas. I had never heard of them before, and someone told me they are the best sounding speaker for the money. I was just wondering how they hold up against the Focal 165K2P comps since I have listened to them extensivly. Thanks for the information...
