I don't know what Boston's you have but you could try to bi-amp them or run them active. I have the Pro60's running active using a PG ti500.4 I only have one 10 sealed so I don't need my fronts really loud but if you want them to shine they need at least 200rms per side.

No its fine. Your amp will put alittle bit more power to the Boston's. Ex: If you amp does 50X4 at 4 ohms stereo and 100X4 at 2 ohms stereo the Bostons will see around 75X2 and the JL's will see 50X2.

Ya, the people running ALOT of power use 8 gauge wire for subs.

Nothing crazy like some of the guys over at the PG forum but I just have a few Titanium amps laying around. Just sold a ZX475ti. A 12in Xmax, Old EQ215X, A brand new still in box TBBKF4 fused distribution block, some RCA's, 1/0 gauge wire, terminal, etc... Selling most of it. My 600.2 and 500.4 are a perfect matching set so I don't want to part with them. The amps are under each seat in this ride so I don't mind running something that doesen't match. I still was unable to find a spec on the Sundown 1000D on what the efficiency is @ 1 ohm? I know my ti600.2 is less that 50% efficient.
-
I would also like to know how efficient the 1000D is at 1 ohm since it only does full power at 1 ohm not 4.
-
Most likely adding it to my PG collection. I bought in new back in 2000 or 2001 and it's still in perfect shape so I will most likely keep it. I want to stay with the stock alt (110amp) and just a Yellow Top under the hood in this truck so i'd like to run a more efficient amp.
-
Haha, ya I hear ya there. I'm not really looking for a crazy increase in bass. Half of the reason is I would like to try a more effecient amp also. My 600 is a class A/B that pulls 87 amps of current at full power. And after looking around and reading the reviews about the Fi subs most people are giving them a good bit of power.

I have one SSD10 D2 with copper coils in a sealed box with about 600 watts rms coming from a Phoenix Gold Ti600.2 I know going ported will give me more output but i'd really like to stay with the sealed box I have because it fits perfect in the truck. So, i've been looking into getting a 1000 watt amp like a Sundown 1000 or Alpine PDX 1000. Would this upgrade be worth it or should I stick with what I have?

Yes, I am on that forum also. I'm not sure what to do about the current sensor. If it didn't cause any problems I would just add a 0 gauge ground from the battery to chassis then to the block but I don't want to take a chance with a new truck.
-
I'd just like to check it out since I have the same truck and haven't seen anything "big" in one yet. I just have a single SSD10 in a sealed box behind the center console.
-
Thats the reasone I asked. The stock power/ground is 4 gauge and the alternator is a 110amp so would using bigger wire have any gains with the stock alt? I know it would for sure with a higher amp alt. I made a grounding kit for my truck which seemed to help. But everything i've read says to NOT connect any other grounds to the battery - because of the current sensor around the ground.

I would really like to see pics of your install if you don't mind. I have the same truck and would also like to know how you are running so much power and getting no dimming even at idle?

Hello everyone. After some research I got a brand new Fi SSD10 with copper coil's so i'm just here kicking around learning what I can.
