this makes me sad on the other hand, if you were happy with the way it performed off of a single coil with probably only half the power you though it was getting, there is only room for improvement!
-
if it's for your future benefit than that is more important. go, see how it does, post up the score and what frequency you are peaking at, and go from there.
-
you should go to the comp anyway and see what you meter and at what frequency. it will be helpful
-
You got it! and the 4 thinner wires are supposed to be equal to a single 12 gauge http://www.tsunamionline.com/product.php?id=580

faqctoring in wood thickness of .75" all around and the fact that it doesn't look like you used any of the wall as part of the port, displacement is about 1.3 cubes on the port i would say if you had 12 cubes before and it was tuned to 35 with that in mind, this would put you around 38-39 as previously mentioned. if anything it should appear louder on the meter. if it really doesn't seem right to you i would look into other factors like impedance rise and power compression

Do the 3" Legatia mids have grilles available? I need to find something to fill these holes left by the 3.5" DLS Ultimate Iridiums the previous owner had and these seem to be one of the only good fits
-
of course it will put you in a different class most likely cause it'll come above the window line but it will work in a pinch
-
build it with an L shaped port
-
no wonder, your box is like 3-4 cubic feet less because of that port. time to get real creative with an exterior port for the show or something EDIT: WHOA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11 I just realized you said 13.5" deep. that does not seem like anywhere near long enough for that tuning. how big is the box physically?
-
try removing the ports and gluing them in on the outside, so they protrude from the enclosure. if the calculations were not accounting for port displacement then this is a quick fix
-
i think SSA calculator factors in port displacement
-
thats what i'm saying! i think it was these crazy russian dudes, i'm having dinner with my mom and asked her cause i figured girls would know about braiding things and she thinks it was done by machine
-
yeah this is 8 wires total
-
yeah the pics suck, i do the drill thing too but on further inspection this looks like the real deal hand braided. it's really nice, even though it is thin. i would definitely buy some and do something with it, maybe make some nice rca's or something. i dunno...i just want it- if i can find it i 16 gauge maybe i'd run mids and tweets on it
-
yeah, i've seen them twisted before, but never 4 pairs in one, and never without an outer jacket... although i guess that could have been removed, but why? they were all hardcore european guys, so i wouldn't be surprised if they had one guy just sitting for hours doing this cause it was a show car, but if that were the case i would imagine that they would not have went all the way into areas nobody sees

It's not the best, but it's very good and the price is great. As far as wire, i dunno if i would go with the KLM, but i like the Knu kollossus and kolossus fleks a lot. -
sorry for the bad pics^

TC's get loud though, can't wait to see what he does with it. These vids were some of the first vids i ever saw off the SSA drivers last year
-
good looking setup, i'm seriously wanting to grab one of the 50% off 10" Revo's at PE but i can't really drop the money on 2, i know i'll get tired of just having one pretty fast and by that time i'd have to pay full price for another they are so frekin sexy though!
-
i'll only be able to port mine either up into the opening on the rear deck or on the sides with the new setup, subs firing back. i am thinking the first choice is best

http://www.raamaudio.com/cgi-bin/index.cgi?p=pr get o roll and it will be enough to do your trunk well and probably the doors also. Most trunk kits are like 15-20 square feet max, so thats 3 times the material for less $$$ -

i would stick to the other design. that chit is just weird looking seriously you would have no problems using the one larger port, it isn't gonna be crazy long -

i've always found it more impressive when people think you have a trunkfull of speakers and it's a single 10 or something. That why i always loved high powered, ported, single driver setups. -
