    Hennessey Dodge Challenger SRT600

I absolutely love the new challenger, in fact if Chrysler financial didn't stop doing leases i was contemplating trading my G in for an orange SRT-8 when they come out with the 6 speed. John hennessey is also an amazing tuner but he is a crook. I have heard more stories about shady business practice by that company then you could imagine, including him parting out customers cars, sending out stock parts that supposedly were "modified" not inluding parts that he was paid for, blowing up customers engines and charging them, etc

    Two 10" Icons (Pix)

Nice setup, the first thing i noticed is that you had VS-XX's, i have them as well. Good looking car and stereo, how do you like the sound?

The "X"con 12" prototype has arrived

OK, i think this is my next sub. I've been all pumped up about the icons but for having a limited amount of space to work with this seems to be my best bet for a single 12 that i can give about 3 cubes gross. I know everything is in preliminary stages but was just curious if you feel that there is potential for this to be released before the new year? Also, do you feel an SAZ-1500 will be enough power for this or should i be waiting on the SAZ-2k? I am very eager to grab one of the first run when it is released so let me know if a preorder is going to be necessary and i'll be ready

    Few pics of my G35

I'm not really sure how the HDR pics work, i think he has to take 5 pics and they are somehow blended together on the computer to make one "perfect" looking pic. Photography is always something i wanted to learn about but never took the time. As far as the car getting stolen, they came to my house sometime between 1 and 3 am and used a repo style "snatcher" probably a self loader from what i could tell, it had the marks/warping on the back bumper that i've heard they can leave. They took it like a mile or two down the road to a dirt lot by an electricians shop, stole the wheels, which had wheel locks. Where do you think the socket was? YUP! right by the jack where a lot of people keep it They used some kinda hook to pry my trunk open and the thing was up in half. Got inside, popped the seat down, popped the hood, unhooked the battery, horn relay, and the plugs going to the hors which are so had to get at i can't even do it without removing half the front end. Also the taillight were cracked from them prying the trunk, and a few dents on the quarter panels from that too. I had a set of brand new tires i was about to have put on in the back and they got those as well. All in all, it was like 4 months of downtime, tons of insurance BS to deal with and about 10 grand in damages/replacement parts I'll have more soon, have some new goodies i need to get on, it's looking a little different now, and will be alot different soon

    2 ohm components

Maybe he is trying to find drop-ins for a "premium" factory system that uses 2 ohm speakers stock. I know alot of guys with my car (G35) use 2 ohm speakers with the factory amp for the bose system. Not saying it's the greatest thing around, but its likely thats his goal
  7. Doing a system for a friend with an Intrepid. He already has the subs and amp- 2 12" T2's in D4 config, and a rockford T2000 to power them. Lots of room in the trunk to play around with so this is what i was thinking: 5 cubes gross, single slot port appox 96 sq inch tuned to 35hz. Subs and Ports firing rear. Goal is primarily SPL and as long as it doesn't sound like complete ass he's cool with whatever. Listens mostly to rap. What do you guys think?
  8. The MRP-M1000 is the amp that we tried running at 1 ohm with the Brahma the other night and it shuts off after the first couple loud notes, so i would imagine that your will do the same.

    mystery sub.....?

Nice, i actually think that we are gonna run it in my friends durango in an SQ setup. Sealed 2.5 cubes gross w/ an SAE1000d to drive it Gonna design a box tonight. My friend has a half 4x8 sheet of leftover 1" plexi that we may use for a baffle

    mystery sub.....?

Hey, my friend was given a sub that nobody has been able to identify. It's a 15" w/ a standard 4 spoke aluminum basket, triple stacked mags and i believe d2 voice coil config. on the front it is very standard looking with a normal convex dustcap that has a bunch of weird graphics in white and the logo of a company that i know that i have seen before. It looks like a diamond shpe thats half black and half white, with a smaller diamond inside of it that is the same but the color is opposite on each side. gonna try and get some pics up tomorrow. this thing is beefy and we need to come up with a better box for it

    thats the one

    mystery sub.....?

Thanks guys! you were all correct, it WAS a MkI brahma. I was surprised by how good it sounded when i first heard it because it looked more like an SPL oriented sub to me. Anyone have a rough idea what the specs are on this driver? he has it in about 2.0 cubes sealed now w/ 500 watts. the problem is his amp (alpine) make 1k rms at 2 ohms and shuts down on a 1 ohm load. Is it a good enough sub where it is worth him upgrading the amp instead of just buying a new sub? i was thinking maybe steering him towards an SAE-!000.

    Loving my X series!

Just googled it. I think that is the same basket that was on my 2000ish MA Audio MAW612's. If you guys have a set of 10's or 12's kicking around and the price is right i'd love to buy them just to play around with.

    Loving my X series!

i keep hearing about this x series, this has been like the 4th time since i've been on here. what is it?
  17. not 100% sure, but i think he may be talking about the older, pre buyout, hifonics, back when they used the Zed boards. If thats the case, they were great amps. OP is the Kicker that you have the DX350? havent seen one of those in a while since they cleared out all the refurbs on ebay in 2004. They were ok but not the best from kicker, early class d design
  18. Are you a 3.8 liter? If you are i believe you have a group 79 battery, kinda weird size but these are the dimensions you have to work with: (from the interstate site) Weight: 48 pounds Length: 12.06 inches Width: 7.06 inches Height: 7.38 inches Cranking Amps: 1000 Cold Cranking Amps: 840 Voltage: 12 Termination: S The Powermaster 2700 is closest in size but about an inch higher. The others are all smaller then stock with the exception of the 3100 which is HUGE. The only problem that i could foresee would be it being too tall. check the battery box and see if there is additional clearance for height, and if not, if it will fit on it's side not sure but the specs on the interstate starting battery look pretty impressive. you might wanna just stick with one of those and save a bundle $$$.
  19. hmmm.... cause i have a small stinger dry cell (sp800) and a compartment under my hood that fits it and i am trying not to add much weight to the trunk. If i had that under the hood and all 0awg running to the rear i wonder how much that would affect things? I will be running either an SAZ1500d @ 1 ohm or SAZ3000d at 2 ohms, and 100x4 on the front stage

Beating up an old school soundstream SPL12

oh man, that was the first sub i ever had... ran it off a reference 300 dridged @ 2ohms and finally fudgeed up one of the coils running it off a punch power 800@2 bridged at 2 ohms, which was about 1300 watts according to the birth sheet. Took that for a couple months though
  21. not to jack the thread but how much would having both batteries under the hood affect things? just curious, i know it's ideal to have it as close as possible to the amps

    new member from NY

Hi everyone, I've been coming to this forum for a long time and finally decided to stop being a lazy bastard and join. I'm from NY and drive an '07 G35 Coupe 6mt (blk/blk, prem, sport, nav)which is pretty stock right now but it was stolen and recovered from my house a few months back so i will have received/will be installing the following over the next few weeks: Stillen Intake/ Z-tube Tanabe 350z GF210's (1.5/1.8" drop) Nismo Front Bumper Gialla Grille Inven Roof Spoiler EBC Drilled/Slotted Rotors/Greenstuff Pads 20x9.5/20x10.5" Work VS-XX w/ 245/35/20 and 285/30/20 Toyo T1r Ray's Lugs Tainted Tails/Custom Painted H/L's Debadge I am in a rush to get it done before the 6/17 Hot Import Nights in NY so i am not going to have time to do anything with the stereo before that, but will be looking to put together a sort of "jack-of-all-trades" setup (show/LSQ) and plan on doing some competitions and car shows before the end of the season. My current plans include the SSA Icons, either a single 10 or 12 ported, or 2 10's sealed, with either a SAZ-1500 or a US amps MD3 running them. For components i'm torn between my old favorites, the Diamond S600, or maybe the DLS iridium, and i still haven't decided on an amp to run them yet. Additional power will be via a Kinetik under the hood and a Batcap 800 in the trunk as i am trying to keep it lightweight. I have been out of the audio scene for a few years now and i am amazed how much things have changed. anyway, i look forward to talking to all of you and hopefully i see some people from here at a few of the NY events -Chris PS- I will have pics up within the next few weeks, car is getting some paintwork done cause of the theft
