How do you measure the actual output of an amp in watts? I remember my friend Aubrey telling me how, but cant find the info again. Im trying to figure out what my 601S Rockford Fosgate Amp puts out. It says 600 rms, and 1800 peak, which is strange for the peak to be so much higher, but anyways I've also heard that RF underrates their amps substantially like Kicker does. So my question again is how do I measure the power an amp puts out?

Metering an amp

I remember using an ohm meter or a voltmeter to figure it out, then doing the math to put it into watts, but I forget how you do it. -
damn man, its on in 2005 didnt peak my interest as much as "SOLO X" would have haha I love those subs, I wish I could get the video to download, but I can't.

spaceship-kanye west salt shaker-yinyang twins kim-eminem (I just have to say wow when you have four 15" Comp VRs hooked up with this song) I've found for SPL setups, anything of Dre's off the 2001 album is amazing; he seems to love that higher frequency bass.

I've noticed for some time now that it's complicated to figure out the power for a three sub setup. If you have three 4 ohm DVC subs wired together in series (in think thats right) you get a 2.67 overall ohmage. Now if you have a KX600.1 for 600@2ohms, or perhaps a DX700 for 700@2ohms; how would you figure out how much power the amp would put out at 2.67 ohms? Looking into possibly 3-10" compvrs with that setup. Also, I was looking into a two sub setup with the Brahma 10. I'm thinking maybe a bpx1100.1 to power that setup. This one is more expensive, but alot louder and more SQ. After all that 29mm one way linear xmax sure isnt dissapointing! Both setups would be in a ported box, and the three sub ported box setup would prove to be quite challanging. Thanks for your help.

thanks for the replies, I think I'll avoid the three sub setup for now and stick to the brahma jbl setup. How nessecary would a subsonic filter be for the brahma jbl setup, I'd hate to blow $700 worth of subs because they went too low. I think FMod makes a 30 hz highpass filter that rolls off at 12db/octave. As far as I know, that bpx1100.1 doesnt have a subsonic filter.

tires are an easy fix, and I'm not looking to get a 10 second quarter. Besides, I dont like Chevys or any branch of Chevy anyway. haha.

haha that one was different from most that I've gotten. Now I have to go find my stomach, its somewhere in hiding.

Two Brahmas will definitely be louder and cleaner. Can take alot more power as well. Very nice subs. Add another one of those RF amps you have and then you'll power those brahmas fairly good.
