Ok I have a IA 40.1 and need two 15 inch subs that will handle 2k rms each daily? I play a lot of screwed & chopped mixtapes so keep that In mind as low frequency extension is key in this install.. thanks

Ok, i've been doing some research about these drivers and my question is: Are these daily woofers? If so what tuning frequency do they like? I am wanting something on the LSQ side but need 2k rms daily powerhandling and low frequency extension ability. I want to tune around 28hz. Does this driver fit the bill? Thanks.

Ok someone recommended me to look into the IA DP subs because I am looking for something that will handle 2k rms daily and have the ability to play low. My enclosure is tuned to 27~28hz and that's the tuning frequency that I like so how well will the DP's handle this? The enclosure is 8 cuft. thanks

4000 watts what subs do you recommend?

coils burned up...and on one of the drivers, the cone has completely separated from the coil and spider. Ok, you say they get low? so would I have to build another enclosure for a pair of nightshades or dps' since my enclosure is tuned to 27hz? -

I had the Q's, so I'm a little familiar with FI, but they just didn't have the power handling that I was looking for. If I could find something that played the low hz just as well with twice the power handling, I would be fine. Out of the woofers you listed, I thought they were only for spl applications? -
ok, i have two q 15's w/ bp power and I was just wandering what the actual power handling of these is with the bp power? I want to power these with an IA 40.1 if not too much and my box is 8.18 cuft. tuned to 27hz. I also have two optima 34/78 yellowtops in the rear and a red top in the front with dual runs of 1/0 to the rear and dual 1/0 will be going into the amp also. thanks

I know the rms rating on the havocs is 1250 but how much can they really take? would an SAZ-3000D be too much?

Ok, since i've got the new amplifier, I was looking into the bl's a little and keep seeing all these posts about them missing out on the low end, (ie sub 35 hz). Is this true? My enclosure is tuned to 27hz at 8.18 cu ft and the Q's perform awesome in it. I want to go with the BL's because they will handle a little more power than the Q's because I'll be running a IA 40.1. How do you guys think they will perform in that enclosure tuned to those specs? If they won't handle the bottom end like the Q's, I am also looking at the AA Havocs, and I've read that they handle the low bass frequencies pretty well like he q's. Feel free to chime in with any responces. thanks

no,....not 8.8, 8.18 before displacement of port and drivers, right at 6 net is what I calculated....

dilemma!!!!!!!!!

may be in protect, or dead! Did you touch the amp to see if it was hot? check all your fuses and wiring. Are your gains set properly? Could have possibly clipped the sub and burned the coils? -
real power handling of fi q w/ bp power

thanks! I've heard that these amps would put out upwards of 4k on a sound 14.4 volt electrical, true? -
amp decision help

look into the hifonics bxi line, or kicker zx1000.1., rf t10001bd, mtx ta 7801, sundown sae 1000d, etc...etc.. -
Hey, man, sorry about the little confrontation that me & you got into the other day. I am only on here to gain knowledge about the subject at hand, as well as share my knowledge with others...I understand that you were just trying to look out for the others on here, but honestly, I really am not trying to get over on anyone in any kind of way. Hope you accept my apology.

ia 40.1 vs saz 3000d vs dd z1
streetbeater07 posted a topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
which of these would be the best suitable for a daily driver setup at 14.4volts & 1 ohm? Which would be the best overall in terms of efficiency, power output, reliability, and current consumption? thanks -

dewd, im not a newdie, didn't you read the first post? -
no, that would translate to 60-80 sq. in. of port area and your problem is probably going to be the length of the port....seems a little long for 31hz tuning? what formula did you use for calculating port length?

Just wandering how much power they will take continuous

Any AA dealers in Alabama? Im wanting two havoc 15's dual 1.

Ok right now I have the Q 15's and I've gotten used to them so I want to upgrade to the BL series. My question is, ok i want the same freqency response as the Q's have cause I like how they perform down low, but I need to know which options in the BL should I go with to have a good daily woofer? I was thinking of going with the cooling, flatwind, daily, and universal options because I am not looking to do any competing just some really bad street beating. But Im a little skeptical about the cooling option because it says that there is less metal in the motor thus making it a little weaker? So should I just go with p/chamfer, flatwind, daily, and universal because I dont want anything to break in the driver. Or do i even need the flatwind coil option because it makes it more prone to "peaking"?i dont want any peaking just low hz bass. Please help someone, thanks alot in advance

thats exactly what I was thinking.....now just gotta sell the q's 1st.....
-
Go to the FI technical section where all their drivers are listed along with the options and recommended uses for each, decide which one you like and read thoroughly about all the options available for each driver, then decide from there which one is best suited for you and come back after you've narrowed it down a little, and someone could be a lot more help to you....The Q's are the sound quality reference line and they pound hard and sound damn good at it, the bl series are geared a little more towards spl and "fill the gap" between the btl and the q's, and also sound decent to boot. I wont be the one to make this decision for you and then you not like the outcome, so do a little R&D and hit us back up.
-
You'll probably end up spending more in your electrical system than anything.....depends on what all options you get in the btl's and exactly what are you wanting to do? spl? if not spl then you dont need the btl's. maybe look into the bl series or the q's.

bump it up for some CS.......

Ok I've been trying to get my subs reconed for about three weeks now, I already know that they wont be covered under warranty because I overpowered them, but i have the money to get them fixed so if someone that works for fi could send me some info to get me on the right track, i would greatly appreciate it. Subs are:( 2) FI Q 15's D1 w/ BP power. THanks
