The builder may be right in a way. Tuning low enough to play chopped and screwed music severly limits the type of music you can listen to. if you build your box to peak around 34hz actual tuning will be in the low/mid 20's with a roll of somewhere around 42-45hz. After that you will get very little output from the enclouser without adding power. I currently run 15" DR's and love the way they handle the lows. I peak in the mid 30's and have had no problems what so ever with my subs being able to play that low with very little distortion. I would do something like 2-2.5cuft with a 13x6x24-30" port.
I have 4 of the 15" DR's.They are awesome LSQ sub's IMO.They can get low as well as loud.I started off with one in a 2.4 cube ported box and it sounded great!Very transient keeping up with rap as well as rock. Then I put all 4 in a wall and was amazed at the output that I got. Also they handle power great.Right now I'm pushig 1500 to each daily and they love it:)

That was funny seeing the "titty van" roll into the lanes.I was wondering if that would cause any problems down the road.Huh, oh well it just keeps getting better. You going to do anything to the outside?
