umm, running my sx12 at 1ohm on my saz3000k it can get REAL loud for a 12 and as long as its not clipping, the coil doesnt even smell Youre sending an SX 3k watts?

You wont get all of that done for 500. Installation for all of that would probably be at least $200(including box being built). That'd only leave you 300 for a head unit, a sub, an amp, wiring, and components? Not gonna happen. If you install it all yourself, then you might be able to get really close to doing all of that, but it'd be chitty equipment. Either up your budget, or do it in stages.

In the end, you would have ended up wasting money on a cap, and then you would have had to buy a new battery or alternator anyways. Last time I checked, batteries and alternators weren't running a million dollars...But don't worry. 3000 watts on a stock electrical is a REALLY smart idea. At least that's the vibe I get from you.

They're good amps. Put out close to rated power and have good prices. Good customer service also.

Youd just have to have the gains set a little lower but yes a 1500d would be fine. The Q could probably take all 1500 if need be, but i wouldnt recommend it on a DD setup. How much space do you have to work with? If you are really stuck between the 12 or 15, go 15. Eventually you'll want more just like everyone else and wish you had a bigger sub. If you can fit a 15" ported then do it if you can deal with the extra space being taken. You can always go sealed with a Q though and they will still sound awesome.
