Need new amp
PTbruiser replied to jdawg90's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Hello jdawg90, I have 2 of the gp3000d-pros, I have 2 dual 1 ohm Q 15 subs on each amp, the amps get hot after playing for awhile but have never shut down, I dont know if that is because I dont have enough of an electrical system to handle 6k watts, I only have a 4 gauge wire running from the alt. to the second battery in the back (stinger sp1700). I can play it pretty loud at night and the lights wont dim untill I crank it almost wide open, thats with 6k watts ,second battery, 4 gauge wire, and the stock alternator on a PTcruiser. If you decide to get the gp3000d-pro I would hook up your BL as a 2ohm load, then you will get around 1500 watts and it wouldnt be such a heavy load on the amp, I dont know how the amp would handle a 1/2 ohm. Then later you can get another BL dual 1 ohm sub, the amp should be fine for 2 BLs. I have had my amps for 4 months now and have had no problems with them, besides getting hot. I really like these amps I dont know if they are better than the Sundown or Kicker amps, but for the price ( $ 450.00 online) these are a great deal...... thanks Brian -
Hello , I recommend the Crunch GP3000D-PRO amp, its 3000 watts rms and can be found online for $450.00 , for the price its a good deal. I have two of these amps and had no problems yet, besides getting alittle hot. Make sure you upgrade your electrical system, add a second battery. If you are ordering one subwoofer it should be a 2 ohm DVC, that way you can wire the sub at 1 ohm to the amp and get maximum power. IF you get a dual 1 ohm sub you should look for a amp that puts out max power at 2 ohm or 1/2 ohm....... Brian

Hello everyone Has anyone use their E8s as midbass yet? If you have, how do they perform and how do you have it set up? thanks..... Brian

Here is a Rockford Fosgate T212D2 and a Phoenix Gold XS12, these are both 12 inch subwoofers, the sub on the left is the Rockford and the the one on the right is the Phoenix Gold.

I have 2 E8s, will be ruunning them between 60 to 200 herts, will 200 watts be enough to power these as midbass? thanks..... Brian

audiobahn a2300 hct
PTbruiser replied to thewarden's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I had two of these amps, I never used them, and sold one to a guy and when he switched his amp(soundstream 2000 watt)to the Audiobahn he got an increase of 2 decible, that was two years ago and the amp is still going strong. I have talked to a lot of people over the years about their hct series amps and the all seem to really like them, they said they seem to put out their rated power or a little more . They are current hogs being class AB amps a have better control of the subwoofer then most class D amps. These are Audiobahn top of the line amps and are power rated at 12 volts, these are great amps , a lot better than their lower line amps. I wish I never have sold my amp, I still have a brand new one in the box, never used. If I still had the one I sold I would be using them right now, but I have to many amplifiers now. thanks..... Thanks canyonfootball07, I have some videos on the 2nd page, there on the post (a few videos of my system). Mjmarovi , thanks for the suggestions, I was looking for a way to save space, and putting the sub box on stilts and putting amps under the box is a great idea, but I still want to use a sealed box and keep it below the window line. Anybody else have any suggestions on how I should redo my install to save space and keep everything under the window line? Thanks........ Brian

The fish dont seem to be effected by the bass, but my dog runs out of the room when I crank the system.

Hello everyone Toshiba 65 inch tv, Playstation 3, Yamaha RX-V3800 receiver, Crown CE2000 amp for subwoofers, (4) Treo tsx 12 inch subwoofers, Focal polyglass 260V3 speakers with 10 inch midbass, 5 inch mids and tweeters.

Thanks... the toshiba is actually a rear projection tv, the angle I took the pics makes it look like a plasma or lcd. For the price I paid it has been a great tv, very nice high def picture. It also only weighs 70 pounds, so I put it on the stand myself.

Bigjon...... I really like them, for the price you cant go wrong, seem to put out a lot of power, but they do get hot after playing them loud for awhile, but they havent shutdown yet. I also dont have the electrical system to support 6k watts, I have the factory alt. with 4 ggauge wire running back to a Stinger sp1700 battery in the back, I have a high output alternator being built, then ill put in the 0 gauge power wire , and add a powermaster 3100 battery in the back. Thanks...... Brian

Each box is 4.25 cu. ft. so each sub gets a little over 2 cu. ft. , the box is to small, I am going to build another box, so each sub will have 2.5 cu. ft. and yes its pretty loud!!!!!

I have a high output alternator being built, then Ill install 0 gauge power and ground wires, rebuild subwoofer box so all 4 subs will be facing up. Front door panels will be rebuilt installing an E8 sub as midbass, powered by a soundstream rubicon 1002, and soundstream RF-60 component set for mids and highs also powered by a soundstream rubicon 1002, the E8s will be bandpass at 60 herts to 200 herts, then the RF-60 comp set will play 200 herts and up. Here some videos of my curent setup. :eek5wavey:

Alpine cda-9887 and h701
PTbruiser posted a topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Hello everyone! Im looking at the cda-9887 and was wondering if this would be a good choice for my setup? My front stage is going to be a 8 inch midbass in each door, and a soundstream FR-60C comp. set with 6.5 inch in kick panels and the tweeters up on the sail panels just above the dash,I want the 8 inch midbass speakers to be bandpass at as low as 60 herts and as high as 400 herts, and then the comp. set to play above 400 herts. I HAVE 2 amps, (ppi 2600) one for the 8 inch speakers and the other for the comp. set. Is the crossover on the CDA-9887 adjustable so I can bandpass the 8 inch midwoofer and high pass the comp. set ? and also is the sub volume difficult to adjust? I am also looking at getting the H701 later on, what are your guys thoughts on this setup? thanks.............Brian -
Hello everyone where is the cheapest place to buy a Powermaster D3100 battery? also can I connect the powermaster to my Stinger SP1700 battery? thanks....Brian

Hello everyone well I just orded 4 Q15s dual 1 ohm and bp power the box im building will have 2 seperate chambers, with 2 subs per chamber, with about 5 cuft per chamber,is that enough space?this is a sealed box. Also i will be using 3/4 inch MDF board to build the box, I will be putting double layers on the baffles, should I double layer all the other sides of the box or should I just brace inside to the single layers? thank you .................Brian
