will this amp setup work?
salgutierrez replied to salgutierrez's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Oh yeah, budget wise, i only want to spend about 600 tops on the sub and amp, that was one of the main reasons. I considered the alpine shallows, but they are hella expensive(300ish ebay/amazon for sub and then alpine amp 2-300) . The kenwoods are closer to 4"(i believe) and i want the box to be about 6-8" deep tops(going in car trunk). also, i heard mb quarts are like almost 3", but i'm not familiar with the brand. -

my dad had rf in his old truck and it was legit, basically good experience. im open to suggestions though. also, i dont like the cosmetics on the pioneer and some of the other models, i like the simplistic look of the older rf -

huh? its 400w rms, so i wouldnt push it past 850 if i cant find the 2 ohms? or is there a reason for choosing 4 ohms over 2 ohms? this option would send 200w less to each sub and be 100w under the suggested power lvls -

Here's the thing, i was considering getting 2 - 12" older model p3s, 2ohm subwoofers, Power Handling (Watts RMS): 400 Watts RMS 800 Watts Max With this amp http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/products/details/p1000x2 Rated Power (RMS Continuous Power): 300 Watts x 2 @ 4-Ohm 500 Watts x 2 @ 2-Ohm wired with the 2ohm version If i can't find the older ones in 2ohm, i've come across the 4ohms, but wiring them would only deliver 300 watts, is this enough or do i have to get the 10"(which only require 300)? going in the trunk of a car, have 39" width and want to do less than 8" deep, ~16-18 high(considering leaving a spot on the box for the amp). will post up a drawing later(i have a couple tasks i need to take care of when i get home) -

Best shallow subs for my truck
salgutierrez replied to SMpaintball78's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
i was going to do 2 10/12 rfs in my trunk, i totally forgot about alpine. i did consider JLs but they are kinda pricey and for the amount spent, i could get 2 rfs. i only considered these 2 subs because they look sweet. i have to search the net for the RF because i want the older model, not the new one(probs check on ebay). have u done anything yet? i already kinda sketched up a box plan totaling at about 10 cu inches per sub( 16 x 14 x 7-1/2) -
i thought free shipping from ssa on sundown items?
salgutierrez replied to krb1991's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
doesnt obama cover shipping? /lol just read the last couple posts, and i agree. we, as americans, want it all but not the work that comes with it. however, the appliances breaking earlier than expected is due to technology and advances that come with it. knowing very well that you must have the latest and greatest, companies fabricate their goods with this in mind.(/conspiracies) warranties are also a business, with most warranties maxing out at about 5 yrs. we are spoiled, we have smart phones costing $400, tablets, whether it be samsung, nooks, or iPhones/iPads which somehow have convinced people that their model they bought last year is no longer anygood and look this new one is shiny!, rawr reptar m'fka! -

salgutierrez replied to b34tBoX's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
thanks, gonna check this out and see what i want now, lol. from what i understand(correct meif im wrong) hatchbacks and suvs are the best vehicles for banging out with the latter being the best. the thing is, these would be going in my trunk, so it wouldnt sound as loud. -

im in the same boat, i was considering 2 RF shallows 10s or one JL 13TW5, i could get the 2 rfs and amp for about 400-600 while the jl with amp would rune be 600-800, so i am also unsure. the RFs are 3.65 mounting http://www.rockfordf...x?itemid=120427 the JL is 2.54 http://www.jlaudio.c...r-drivers-92181 rf also has an 8", 2.66 depth tho http://www.rockfordf...x?itemid=233191 i decided to contemplate(lol) on buying the JL but never got around to actually purchasing it. i currently have an old 13w1 in a ported box and it takes up too much space in my trunk. i was considering getting a 13w6 at a time but have decided against taht due to me needing to utilize my trunk at times(luggage, etc) its an audi a5, so i dont really have much space to work with . havnt gotten around to getting dimensions due to my back being fucked up(nor have i cleaned it ) edit: and yeah, that clarion looks nice edi2: i havnt had the chance to hear any shallow subs in person either, if any1 has heard any sub, what do you recommend. from what i've gathered, the jl is the "best", but im assuming its because of bias and name/brand... -

salgutierrez replied to helotr3vor's topic in Build Logs
cool dude, i was going to do something with mine, but instead realized that i do need the trunk space, going for a shallow woofer instead, not as loud . good luck with ur build, waiting for more updates lol o yeah, i also like the a4 lights, they are better than the a5s, didnt get this option on mine and they are pricey for aftermarkets and oem is ridiculous lol -
sup guys, anything been happening lately? i gotta get back on my bump cause i currently aint got nething but a crappy jlw1 from my 1st system ever, lawlz. considering some rockfords\ i want a t1, but ideally a p3(preferably the shallow ones too, lol)

.so my friend wants to know the price for both my 15s and both amps, i was gonna sell one amp but he wants a package deal* so i was lookin at some subs 2x JL 10" W6v2 2x Fi 10/12" Q either set up probably in a sealed enclosure(i understnad this lets it more responsive and clearer bass/sq increase). i would need 2 amps for the Fis/ prolyl kickers aswell, found the 1000,1 on ebay for 300 and found a 1500.1 for 400$.
