The flange on the convex(boob) cap? The concave(dish) caps will hide glue, if that's what you mean. Any kind of material can be used, cost changes though.

It depends on the stock dustcap, in most cases the stock dustcap must be removed prior to installation.

has nothing to do with the appearance of the basket. I seem to not understand what the point of this post was. The look of that basket is patented and owned by Fi, the actual tooling is owned by someone else(the manufacturer), that is why other companies are able to have that basket.

It is not an SPL woofer, just so we're clear. Max wattage? Whatever you put on it. Half an ohm? I'm sorry, the subwoofer doesn't care what resistance the amplifier is seeing. Break in time? Doesn't matter, not one bit.
