12 layer coil like the V.1?

These guys came across something with this enclosure that works for them in competition ... and they are winning !!! If I was them, I would not give exact specs to their design either ... They aparently have a winning edge with this design. If they give their "TRUE" secrets to their design, then someone will come along, read their designs, and come up with something better and beat them at their own game ... Its not a question if they "went by the book to build this" ... You all are wanting to exploit their tricks of the trade to see if they are cheating, or someone in your competition camp is building something to compete in their class and is wanting the upper hand in competition ... I congratulate them for coming up with something "out of the ordinary" and kicking ASS with it ... Last time, as I recall in competition, thats how and why you play the game ... To WIN ... There is nothing special about their 4th order bandpass, ///M5 is asking them to prove there is something unique about it, and they cannot come up with anything.

Your not skimping, that "500watts" likely won't be audible, and even so, its just a rating, doesn't mean it needs 2000watts to get loud. And as above suggested, DC Power makes some killer alternators ^This, my 18 btl is run off 1500w, everybody who has ever sat in my yukon says it is the loudest system they have ever heard (even sub owners with 4kwatts + lol). Make sure you follow Fi Audio specs on the enclosure and tuning. Stefan is right on point , adding a second battery is needed, do the "Big 3" upgrade under the hood, run some 0 gauge ground wire, and later on if needed, upgrade your Alternator. Defiantly get the "cooling" option, Daily option, Universal option if you ever plan on re-coning the sub to change its' impedance, and the HiXmCoil hey bro am doin a setup with 2 12 fi, am new at this and need some help. I was planning on getting 180 amp alt and 1 yellow top with 2 audio q 2200 with both of these amp together the external fuse rating will be 400 amps. Should I get dual batteries? Whats ur advice? Thanks bro ur help is appreciated You have your own thread, you don't need to ask the same questions in his.

What about it is hilarious? It's the same face from a cartoon I watched as a kid, I always thought it was funny.

That is all.

I find it hilarious...maybe cause I'm a troll

It's cool to them, arguing about who is the loudest state. Who cares? Why don't we team up and be the loudest country?
-
Class A/B is much less inefficient than Class D, hence the temperature difference

Hey I hought you were 20? Are you hiding something? Guess I'm 34 now! The state of Florida says so!

I'm enjoying myself as well

Aw shit mang you just answered your question. The heatsink gets "very toasty" cuz it's a HEATSINK! It's pulling heat away from the amps internals. It's doing what it's supposed to. If the middle of the amp (where the more sensitive parts are) is really hot then that's a problem but if that part's cool then you should be good. And Duran is right. Say your H/U puts out 2 volts which your amp turns into 40 at 3/4 gain. If you get a new H/U that makes 4 volts and your amp turns that into...40...at 1/2 gain, then the amp is still making the same power and you didn't do anything. Having the gain up high is NOT BAD, if that's where you need it to be. Having it TOO HIGH is bad. This gain rule is funny to me...almost like people saying "don't ever push your car past XXXXrpm cuz that will mess it up." Only true if you don't know what the hell you're doing. I have that same amp and it never gets hot. This is also in the 100+ degree Arizona heat, but I have proper electrical upgrades. What he said, what's "proper electrical upgrades?" And by never gets hot, you mean even the heatsink isn't hot? I find that a lil hard to believe. Also, he said his amp has a 150 amp fuse, while yours is a new "constant power" series and shouldn't have a fuse on it? (Not tryin to be all lawyer-type but I'm sorta thinking he has an older power series amp, unless I either read what he posted wrong or they hide the fuses on those new power amps.) with low voltage my saz1500d was very hot. After installing a dc power alt, my saz1500d was cool to the touch. Not hard to believe. What's low voltage? Below 12 volts? Below 11volts? I ran a 1500d between 12-14.5 volts, and mine always ran "warm" after any real long length of time(10 mins or more of hard playing). I don't see how going from 12 volts to 14volts is going to change the temptature. If anything, I would think it would get hotter because its putting out more power? Nope When voltage drops more amps have to be pulled to produce the same amount of power at the same volume. lets just say you're producing 1500 watts at optimal levels.. at 14 volts you would only need 107A to produce the 1500 watts, but to produce the same 1500 watts at 12v you would need 125A.. You create more heat by pulling more amperage. This ^

Well they have Dexter, Miami Vice, and Burn Notice, so they can't be that bad... I do <3 Dexter...

I'm tempted to drive to Florida and prove them all wrong. I don't think it would be worth it. I'm almost convinced Florida is filled with ignorant, dumb people. I have to deal with them at work and they can't even do their job right. I might use it an excuse to go to the Keys again, do a little diving, and eat some real Key Lime Pie...yummy! I will meet you in Key West. Heck yeah!

I have one

I agree, room for improvement too, any pics of the N3 install?

The screws are there to hold the glue joint while it dries, good glue is important. Any glue designed for wood will work well.

Audioque or Sundown?

You needed it without a doubt. I was a nasty little shit!

If you turn the gain down, and have a higher preout voltage head unit plugged in, it won't change anything. The amp amplifies that preout voltage, the same voltage will be achieved.

I got the wooden spoon as a child too, from a single mom who worked full time, we'll just say she was too tired to deal with my bullshit. Made for a well behaved kid.

My name means...I mean uh, nothing...lol
