Why did he buy a Q?
-
No that means 9.42 square inches of port area.

I have a run of 3/0 gauge to them. There is a spot in the center of my spare tire well that you secure the spare tire with, they are bolted too it. yea i was checking out that site earlier so i compared the two and the deka is definately superior.. i just don't want to get fucked on shipping. how much did they charge you for shipping? It was $206.xx shipped to my door, in Idaho. I would go with option 1.

Could you possibly take a picture and show me how you have your batteries mounted because Im looking for ideas and the only places I came up with is the spare tire well (spare tire gone) but then I was wondering how I would chare them being that my box is on top of the batteries. The other spot is beside the box above the rear tires in the corner by the trunk opening. Should I keep my stock battery and get one or two deka 31's; get rid of stock battery and replace it with a deka 9a34 and get just one deka 9a31, appreciate it Duran? i'm in the same situation as you man it's sketchy (the stock alt and all), only difference being that 2500 watts will be the most i'll be putting in, and like i said i'm keeping my stock alt and will be running 2 optima yellowtops front and rear, the big 3 done in all 0/1, and a stinger 5 farad cap...i know a lot of people say caps are useless but i've done my research and i know it'll help me in my situation.. have you considered optima batteries? theyre not much more expensive than those deka batteries and you can probably find a place near you that sells them rather than paying shipping on a battery.. just my two sense..don't stone me haha Those Deka batteries are like 3 Optima's combined. They are mounted on their sides in me spare tire well, that's about it. oh damn..time to do some more research haha.. whered u buy yours? Well they are massive batteries, 70 lbs. each. I got them from www.remybattery.com

I would use 22-30^in of port area.

The power supply is regulated. The SAE series aren't built like tanks as the SAZ series is, the SAE series is not recommended for competition.

Oh yeaa! Trunk smells like birch and fiberglass right now Pictures or lies!

That's not how it works. The baffle is what isolates the front and rear wave. The rear wave is not exiting through the vent, in fact it's not exiting at all, nor is the air in the vent or the enclosure. It's simply being excited by the rear of the driver just as it is in a sealed enclosure. The air in the vent and enclosure is still a spring, not a pump. Think of it this way. Take your hand and wave it in front of your face. You feel the air correct? Is the air moving? No, it's simply being excited by your hand. This is how sound is created. Now stand in front of a fan. That is taking air from one spot and physically moving it to another, essentially pumping air. The front and rear waves are still out of phase, as is the vent, but not 180 degrees, so cancellation is not an issue. Your idea may work, but it will take some testing. It will not be optimal that is for sure as you have the driver on an actual vent wall, but many systems have been designed to couple the output of the vent and the cone at the same spot. Think JL's Pro Wedge, or whatever they are called, enclosures. This has been done many times for years and years; it's nothing new. I probably should have worded that better

That 15 in the proper enclosure will out play that 18 in the wrong size box, but I have seen IS300's with 2-12's and that Sundown 1500 slam if you can get the proper enclosure that would hit harder than that single 15 and 18 And because 2 12's yields more cone area, more heat dissipation, more power handling, and more motor force AND it's easier to fit the recommended 12" enclosure in a trunk VS. a 15" (Which in my opinion isn't smart)
-
Well unless you steal my system, it kills people too
-
Installation is everything, but basically you guessed right
-
I have a stock 90 amp alternator, and battery with 2 Deka 9A31's in the spare tire well running an SAZ-3000D and an SAX-100.4 with NO issues at all
-
Haha that's not surprising!
-
I'd set it a little higher, like 28 hz. MOST music won't go that lower than that.
-
idk what frequency it was, but these damn things couldn't drop low for anything. idk what it was. Thats why you have a sub... Most SQ guys, Sean up there in particular, would rather not have a sub and just have a good 3 way active front stage.
-
Think about how a port works, it isolates the sound waves from the back of the cone and lets them go out through a vent(port), then you combine the sound waves from the front of the cone with the ones coming from the back like that you have issues.

I say you keep it Sundown, either a custom Nightshade or the new Neodymium woofer Jacob is making.
