You owe me a beer then

I'd wire it to 4 ohms, the 3000D is underrated so it will be about 1000 watts. Perfect for a Q.
-
Did they explain why it would sound like crap? It sounds like THEY are full of crap.
-
I think you should get two D2's and wire the VC's in series and the speakers in parallel for a 2 ohm load on the amp, that will yield you approximately 1600 watts from the 3000D. It will help your subwoofers and amplifier last much longer. As far as your gain problem goes: Power = Voltage x Current only problem is the Q with bp power will need ~1200watts rms, and this is going in a Camry.. No, just because they are thermally rated at 1000 watts and with the BP power an extra 200 watts doesn't mean you have to give it the whole 1200 watts. I have 2000 watt rated subwoofers and have one 3000D at 1 ohm on them, it will save the subwoofers and the amplifier in the long run.

Help with speaker selection for a 3-way setup.

Want an easy fix? Use a starting battery not a deep cycle. -

The ones that fit in your hands the best. NEVER buy a knife set, they NEVER, EVER work best for you. Do buy something with real metal in them though. At least Wusthoff quality IMO. Does Sean like Cutco knives? Eh I LOVE my Cutco's...........especially the ones I got for christmas. J I wish...my parents and grandparents use them. I don't have any knives lol

Port volume is the amount of space in the port, not port area. (LxW) x 6 = Surface area LxWxH = Volume
-
no sorry about that i meant port area will be 111 cubic inches...and thats my thing it gave me cubic inches not square inches... So that's the port displacement, not port area, right?
-
Yes the displacement of the port will affect tuning. For SPL, meaning one not only, that port area will work well. For daily it is WAY too high, the highest I would go is 80 in2 Why are you talking square ports when your asking about round ports, are you going to have both in the same enclosure?
-
Its pretty much a regular vented enclosure with a tunnel. This has a bandpass effect, while it sounds great its not necessarily the best for high SPL. So how do you model it? Do it as a normal vented enclosure and remove the displacement of the tunnel?

Rob that grey bumper looks funky when the rest of the Explore her is black

The presale ends the day he gets them, he estimates the end of February. That was with a 3500D at 1/2 ohm.
-
You can have a "normal" dust cap put on them. That's just how Mark and Aaron liked it
-
Normally they will test all the speakers; they want to make sure everything is aligned. They would rather not be forced to pay for shipping back to them because the coil wasn't aligned properly. It does sound like something is under the dustcap or part of the glue joint came undone.
