I'll do one more suited for mobile audio for you -
RMS is only rated power handling in watts, while the BTL would get louder than only one SSD, with two it's not fair anymore.
-
MDF stands for medium density fiberboard, HDF is high density. MDF royaly fucks your tools when you cut it, HDF is much worse. I'd stick with MDF, Birch, or Trupan Light. Don't worry about the sounds waves reflecting, MDF is already dead and reflective.

That's where Jacob comes to play. Your not left out on your one if one of Jacob's amps fail. You do realize that if all the amps were built here they would be about twice the price, with the SAME level of quality and components, the only thing that changes is American hands piecing the amp together vs. Chinese hands. China does it for muh cheaper because they don't have minimum wage laws.
-
More cone area, more motor force, more heat dissipation, etc.
-
They are build in China to Jacob's specifications, just like the SAZ series is built in Korea to Jacob's specifications.

You have a happy birthday thread on CLZZ too

Don't forget it was also the weekend. The world doesn't run on your schedule. -
Thanks for the support Brian I hate the port area rule of thumb. It's just a way for people to try to skip the math, and it doesn't work.

I'm confounded by that logic. Lets make a different example (same physics). Go outside and fill a sled with wood and try to push the sled, what happen's? Now pull on the same sled, what happens? I think it has NOTHING to do with different muscles, Just the fact that the force is being applied in the most effective place. That depends on where your pushing it form as well. Did you push from the top of the wood pile? From the base of the sled? Oh when you pulled it did you use a rope and lift up on the front? Or did you keep it level with ther ground? What id your 750 lb. grandma is in the sled too??

Stealth, I hope your home is enveloped by a volcano, you have proven time, and time again that your insight is generally false. Instead of flaming someone you need to be able to express why you think something over someone else belief.
-
How many times do I have to say this? Apparently the "All-knowing Stealth" can't wrap his head around this, you design the enclosure around the subwoofer, not the other way around. Enclosure size does not dictate port area, the parameters of the driver does.

I should add that there is supposed to be a processing update on the HTC, I'm not sure when though. -
Why? Why "daily" systems should not count on impedance rise - SSA Car Audio Forum
-
Stealth, stop cluttering Brandon's thread with name calling. If you would like to point fingers and insult me do it in a private message. Brandon, use Jacobs recommendations as it is always best to listen to the manufacturer.
-
What stealth said is correct, but NEVER count in impedance rise in a daily system.
-
I wouldn't put 18's in that little space, two 15's would perform better as they would be in an optimal enclosure.
-
If you would like to stick with your list of woofers, the L7's would be your best choice.
-
Listing several drivers and saying each will be in the right enclosure wont help you at all. We need to know your goals, as there might be a woofer that isn't on your list better suited for your goals.

More designs to come! -
X2. Did you know impedance changes when power is applied? Like when the voice coil heats up? It's called impedance rise.

It looks like total Mayhem!
