In all honesty, I side with him. Alpine is a much more reputable and respected company than Maxxsonics. Who cares though? Your friend is trying to puff his chest up and look cool, and you are too. Audio should not be a popularity contest, save that for high school. You both seem happy with your amps so there is no sense in competing, we all have our opinion, but be happy with what you like.

Getting license soon, any random ideas for stereo setup and design

Then what is the point? There is no point in them in your situation, what do you need a rear fill for, you like to hear a musician singing behind you? Really? You need to think about this logically. -
I foresee you getting flamed for this thread....I'd retract that statement now just to save the embarrassment.
-
That will depend on gain settings. We could use a little more info, you said stock electrical, but how large is the alternator? Also, what are the specifications on the bettery in the rear?
-
Titebond 1, 2, or 3. Or use epoxy.
-
I'm curious as to why you added the center channel? The fabrication looks awesome.
-
Why didn't you get DP's?

Your making me feel like a lazy-ass Sean! I stayed up all night with a lady friend, watched a few movies, and finally fell asleep at noon, and woke up at 8

The BL is more comparable to the 3500 or 9500, but the 2500 can be made louder than the BTL. It is ALL in the installation, pick the driver that best fits your budget. Keep in mind though, the 2500 has a 2.5" coil and half the thermal power handling as the BL, which has a 3" coil.

My Sub Fades In and Out (what is it)?
Duran replied to Typicaljawaiian's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
Check your connections. -
At 194 dB the sound wave becomes a shock wave, at that point you might as well sound next to TNT because you're gonna rupture something internally.
-
The woofers you are looking at say "N/A" because they are not designed for sealed enclosures.
-
Two 10's and ~500 watts. They were older Rockford subs, can't recall the model.

I still haven't gone to bed!

Amp Set up Help
Duran replied to SaxMan's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
50 Hz. is standard for a sub-amplifier. You set the subsonic about 5 Hz. below tuning, use your reasoning to determine there that point is. -
Welcome to SSA! We have lot's of SQ gurus on here.

If they had smaller bags I would. But strippers carry alot crap. It looks like they're going for a week vacation or something. Strippers are supposed t wear almost nothing! WTF? -
Have you ever seen why they recommend that? They give NO reason for it, they don't know jack shit.
