X2 don't put the nose in it, that will teach them to HIDE it if they go in the house, they cannot reason like humans can so they think going potty in that spot was bad, so they will move the spot to a low traffic area. X2 on the sweater puppies as well

Good luck duplicating that.

1. Port area is just that, the area of the port opening. Nothing to do with length, that's displacement. 2. No they don't require half the area, I think you mean normally they have half the displacement
-
I'd go with 90-110 square inches of port area.
-
What do you want your tuning at?
-
You need more like two 6" ports.

It is tough though, clipping can bring down the best of woofers.

Please do, that is the only reason your XCON failed.

More Wiring questions

So the stock tweeter was wired to a crossover but the midrange wasn't? That's normal for stock. You got your wiring correct. -
Agreed.

If anything you want an SE not an SEx(which is a stupid name as it is) because the latter version is when US Amps bought RE and they aren't very good now. Scott the owner of Fi and AA, designed all of RE's woofers so if your wanting to buy RE might as well buy Fi or AA.

It's already an 4 layer flatwound aluminum coil, the next best thing would be to make it an 8 layer and scratch the pole vent, but the means a whole new motor. They made the woofer to be a good blend of sound quality and output, and they achieved it. You should have considered buying more drivers, as you obviously want more out of your system.

They aren't bad, but they're nothing special either. You need to really do your research before buying, or your friend for that matter.

Crescendo Audio?

He's downing it because he looked at the T/S parameters, they don't lie. You cannot defy the laws of physics. -

I'm always here Lurking...

I agree. It's amusing how so many people think the Level 5 would be superior, because they think bigger is better when it comes to motors. The Level 5's have HUGE gaps, not good for cooling.

That sound your hearing when you press on the cone is probably the tinsel leads, and if they are making a sound they are burnt. It's very hard to fry triple stranded tinsel leads, you sure know how what your doing when it comes to blowing woofers.

PM Aaron and he can get one for you. Why would you not speak with the manufacturer first?

It's not the voicecoils fault. It does what it's told.
