Have you ever seen an inexperienced user that just decided to play a test tone sweep, turn his subwoofer level up, turn his enclosure around and put up over one hundred and fifty decibels? Seriously? I honestly wish it was that easy, but get this, that;s why so many people make it a goal, because it really is that hard to achieve. It doesn't just "happen" like the OP's situation.

GOOD GROUND amplifier heating up
Duran replied to BASSnoob's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
A larger alternator will not fry your electronics, it will merely output more amps than your stock alternator. If you plan on upgrading at all, get a bigger alternator, if you plan on sticking with that amp get a bigger battery, replace the one under the hood with a better battery or get a bigger Kinetik for the rear, both if you want. Nothing wrong with extra power. -

Getting warm is normal, but clipping will cause thermal failure of your woofer. Your amplifier sends a square signal to the woofer, not a sine wave, when it does not have the necessary power your telling it to amplify (with the volume knob). -

A stock battery, and an HC 600 really aren't enough for a 2,500 watt amp. I'm surprised your Q isn't dead from clipping yet. -

Stock battery as well? How big is your alternator? -
Tiny magnet? That's a .75" slug with a heavily bumped back plate.

Euhm, wtf. (they maybe look the same on the outside, but i don"t think they are the same on the inside of the motor, and it has differen soft parts) And the Level 3 has more BL and bigger xmax.(and probably more power handling.) Higher BL and more Xmax means it has more potential to get louder. The Re SX has lower Fs, and Lower Qts, which means it has mre potential to sound better. The Dc level 3 will sound good, even real good if u make the right box for it.(and it should be more then loud enough, is it's for SQ...) lvl 3....upgraded SE? lvl 4...upgraded MT? Upgraded mt? The MT's can handle 3-3.5k watts or even 4k in some hands, the LVL 4 can't.(the level 5 can.) Cause it's a big, inefficient waste of ferrite The MT is a solid driver, Scott knows how to design woofers as he's done MANY.

Because doubling the suspension is changing it mechanically, not electrically like sensitivity is calculated? If you divided Cms by half, would that change efficiency?
