Just got finished testing, I don't know what I was doing earlier but I was able to achieve 34 volts with the iPod at 3/4, hooked up the speaker wire, and wowwww. Much, much louder. I think I will go make a video on a few minutes. Does this mean possible bad LOC or RCAs? That's exactly what we wanted to know. I'm going to put my money on the LOC, but RCA's are cheaper to replace than buying a HU so test those first.

Finally someone got it! I had faith in you Aaron

The the volume on the iPod higher then, until you achieve 34 volts, then leave the iPod connected, wire up your subwooder terminals and play music on the iPod, tell us if the sub has more output after that.
-
If you have the wire go for it, it's a guaranteed good ground.

Good to see you back Shawn, I wish you luck with your family.

Quick question, do the DD earbuds have an insane rolloff like the woofers?

Ahh she likes teh loud -
No readjust the gains for the iPod, and tell us if there is a difference. You ALWAYS readjust the gains when you change the source.

New head unit?
Duran replied to SentraGuy's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Reasons why? I see it has 2 volt pre amps. I was shooting for 4. There is a reason you have a gain knob on amplifiers. Don't let that steer you away from a HU. -
Start with the iPod at 25%, and work your way up from there. If you get to 75% volume and still have no usable output form the sub we've established that the stock HU, RCA's, and LOC are still good.

Mark you need to show her the other jet engine.
-
Yes i know that but, when it comes to quality i said this might be a shipping error or ?. Most likely, even if it isn't Mark and Aaron will take care of you. No need to worry about their customer service.

You do realize you sent him a PM on a Saturday night? They have business hours you know, not everyone runs on your time.
-
Calm down. You sent him a PM, he'll get it. This thread was utterly pointless.

The only problem is nomex doesn't warp. Subwoofers make mechanical noise, ESPECIALLY free air.
-
If it's setup properly, the people in the back will be able to hear just fine. You can get rears, it will much up your sound stage but if you aren't worried about it go for it Bravox should have both sizes you need, 6.5" and 5.25".

There is a REALLY good deal on Bravox speakers, they are top notch build quality wise, as well as sound quality wise. They are loud too! http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/store/brands/Bravox-Audio.html I personally have the CS60CF set.

Shouldn't take to long, I'm a big ole whore

Because there is no magnetism involved in an amplifier.
