linking amps question???
sound=vibration replied to kendall64's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
They have to be bridgeable or some call it piggy backing.. So to answer your question you cant go out and get to plain jane amps and "link" them per-say. You can how ever run them to two seperate coils which I dont recomend gain setting becomes and issue. What amps do you have? It's strapping, not bridging. Bridging is two channels of the same amp, strapping is two separate amplifiers. Also, no reason not to run two separate amps to two separate coils of the same sub (or one amp per sub in other situations). The gain (and other) settings are easily matched with a basic DMM. Even then, they don't necessarily have to be identical. A minor variance won't audibly affect performance in the slightest. Though I don't really understand the fascination with strapping in the first place. In 90% of situations where people want to "strap" they can just as easily run one amp per sub or one amp per coil with exactly the same result. Correct Correct correct I had a brain fart forgive me. Stapable is the correct term I edited above, However many make the gain setting difficult for themselve although it is a simple task and yes you are correct with everything stated above I just dont recomend running to seperate coils on the same sub to keep things simple for people. Again thanks for the correction! -
High Recirculating. It didnt happen when it was on any other speed or atmospheric draw. It didnt bother me having them sealed I dont see any problem with doing it..

I sealed mine up and when i would turn on the ac on its higest setting you could feel it push open the door a bit when you pulled the handle with no outward pressure. Mine ratteled alot could be an issue depending on you setup and car as well.

Hey everyone time to update... Some new things are going on with my build some audio related some not. I was close to selling it when I bought another 4 door for a daily. This week it is getting a rear disc brake conversion, I just had the bushings pressed in and it will also include a sway bar and lower control arms from a integera GSR!! woot as well as my new suspension I have laying around for months now. Skunk 2 ajustables with tockiko blus shocks. I also have all new ball joints, and inner and outer tie rods that will be done later. I have also swapped the motor with a d16y8 and a new si trans with alot of new parts and bolt ons as well as changed my exhaust, and did the big 3. Now audio Still have my Icons!! I have AA mids in the doors and kicker tweets. A second pair will be added later laying around with everything else I have lol. I have a Audiopipe 3kd currently running at 1800rms killing the hell out of my front window!! maybe a vid for you guys! New deck as well pioneer forgot what model. Everything is going to come out and get rewired as well as add a 4 Channel!! and finish deading. -

Yes! Yes this is the best thing to do just in case you grounds you add in suck.. LOL which they probably wont and should you want to pull out the big three to sell the car later its simple no need to redo anything. -
2009 Malibu Build (2 B2 Audio CC 12")
sound=vibration replied to Optimus_Prime's topic in Build Logs
Be sure to seal off the vent in your trunk if you haven't already. You might also have some in the front kick panel. It's not that late right now... Sorry man had to go to work, besides the running at 4 ohms is safe for the subs right now, and allows me to hear any progress of sealing up the trunk, for now its getting loud and louder with every time i find something else to seal up, as compared to when i first installed, and the lows are getting more and more vicious and reinforced. Im definitely on the right path. -
156.2 @ Headrest. ZCONS! Congrats to Big Will. TeamSSA!

Congrats stop by this week will I want to hear it -
Judging from the tunning stated above you would be better off with a lower tunned enclosure. What are your goals being loud, low endextension, ect. These should all be taken into consideration when choosing an enclosure.
