Good car amp
sound=vibration replied to argenis69's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Its funnier than having to replace your sub because your signal was so clipped you heated up the coil and fried it. -
Amp for a pair of 12" GCONs (750w)?
sound=vibration replied to Dave88LX's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I have a audiopipe 3kd. Its a nice budget amp. I ran my Icons on it for a while you just need to be very carefull with voltage drops as they are super sensitive, although for the money kind of hard to beat it. -

Port positioning question
sound=vibration replied to accordwithbass's topic in SPL & SQ / Fabrication
Having ports too close to the sub may cause unloading issues. What is it going in? Car truck? Need some more info. -

Not sure if it is the same in Jersey but here in Az we always have an infinite people selling cheap gifts for Mothers day, Fathers day, V-day, ect. The funny thing is they do it on the side of just about every corner you come to. Any who if you have a printer make a card on the computer and you can add a rain check in it for dinner when you are employed once more.

Parts Express carries two different ones. One similar to this believe it is the 300 though. Sameone I have and another one that has a slideable adjuster if you will. They also sel a super small on for tweeter ect.

Ernie's 2 12" Demo Car Build | New PICS p4
sound=vibration replied to Mark LaFountain's topic in Team SSA
I have one of two options with the doors. Angle them toward me as I did with these or leave them on thier regular plane and mold them into the door much like Marks door. Of course not quite on that level but similar. They will however house another Carbon Mid for a total of 2 on each side. When I get my new tweets in the pillars will be glassed as well to fit my tweets in. I sure hope I have the front stage wrapped up next week as I will start driving it again at that time and NEED tunes! -

Here is nice update. Forced my self up early to squeeze in some time on my car. Heres what I have done on my kick pods. Here is the passanger side before I trimmed the fiberglass. dont mind the dash alot of things are pulled apart in the interior for the rewire. My trim line After getting it trimmed up An idea for what it will look like I was in a rush my girlfriend had to go to work so I skipped the pic of the metal straps for angle adjustment. Here it is dowweled up Driver side trimmed As you can see it will be a tight squeeze with my clutch foot. I have realized I point my foot outward so It shouldnt be too much of a problem. was out later on and saw this in the restroom. WTF! Still stuff stuck to the back. Oh well. You can see where I couldnt work out one of the wrinkles. I will smooth it out later. Stretched this one tighter using staples as well as hot glue Ignore the crock pot next to it lol. Here is both pods ready for more glass. Storm rolled in so I snapped a pic of the view from my balcony! Driver side test fit Pass side resined Glassed Final product. Need minimal clean up. They will be wrapped in black carpet to keeep a stock look so not too worried about the small inperfections, however they are relativly smooth as they sit. Time to work on the Doors!!! Stay tunned for them next week. Feel free to comment as I will be doing more fiberglass work to the doors and will need it. This is the first time I have done this the previos fiberglassing was done by my older brother. Enjoy. -
What are you using to find your tunning. What calculator ect.

Ernie's 2 12" Demo Car Build | New PICS p4

So Yesterday I finnaly got time to work on my car again! Decided to redo my radio harness, when I purchased the car it was cut so I ran all my own wiring but lost things such as door chimes and such. Any how I picked up a donor at the local junkyard and got to work. Here you can see I had to work the harness up through the top of the dash where my hazard button sits. It was too short to repair it any other way. Worked it back down and into is original position. I also pulled all of the wiring for my old setup. Made a couple Mdf rings for the kickpods hopefully I wil get to work on them today. -
2ohm DVC parallel = 1.7ohm???
sound=vibration replied to JohnHinerman's topic in Technical Info & How To's
measure the coils one by one. See what they are at as far as resistance. It maybe possible that the coils are damaged causing a higher resistance, -
Thats roughly 3.4 cubes with no displacements. Now depending on exactly what you are trying to achive it may or may not work. I am unfamiliar on what Skars equiptment calls for nor am I intrested for that matter. To give you more help post what you are trying to do with your setup. Sealed, Ported? These are key. Are you set on 15s maybe 2 12s or 10s may suit your needed due to limitations in box size.

Not sure if people are understanding your box layout, maybe lable the drawing whith top bottom sub ect... It is a little hard to understand it. If I understand you correctly it would be a channel elevated all the way through and not the whole bottom.

Alt noise through 4 channel =[
sound=vibration replied to cloud77's topic in Technical Info & How To's
Wow use paragraphs.. A little hard to understand, from what I got out of it is you have a four channel running your 6x9s and you are getting alternator whine. You also have a second battery that is grounded via strut tower. It sounds like you have a ground loop and you should try grounding your RCAs this could be another solution. Maybe a ground loop isolator, not something I would us as it is more of a bandaid than anything. Make sure all grounds are on unpainted metal up front and in back!- 3 replies
