Well, I did get to hear the SAZ 100.4 hooked up to the 15....It was very nice....NEVER would have guessed it was only getting 400rms...Much flexing was going on!!

I'm amazed...How in the world do the subs NOT blow? I know subs can handle burps but I cannot imagine him never playing them for at least 10 minutes....600RMS sub getting probably 2400... Anyone?? How do you keep a 600rms sub from blowing? I will show you when you come by on Saturday. People sleep on the SA. Well more then than they do now. You have to know what you are doing. If not then I don't care what the Driver is designed for, Either thermally or mechanically, if you don't know you can blow anything. Seriously you have do something real stupid and be a pure noobix to tear these things up. It goes a lot further then "oh X square on X air space @ XX cycles should do it on X amount of power. Way WAY more complicated then that. Excited to see and learn how it is done!!!

I talked with the owner of this car this morning. He designed that box. He also mentioned that he had something to do with the design of the sub as well.....I'm now really thinking hard about what I'll use for my next system...

Okay....As far as the specs on my existing box....I'm clueless....I bought it like that and never asked....

Hey Guys.....I have recently purchased a SAZ 1500D and it's powering 2 Powerbass ES 15's in a sealed box. I'm now interested in getting more sound than what I've got now that I have more power. Here's my existing box. I've talked to a guy who's been doing car audio installs for many years. Being that I've got a trunk car and my back seat doesn't lay down, he thought this would be a good design. He said it basically takes all the bass out of my trunk and directs it into my cabin. It sounds like a good idea but I'd just like to get more opinions. It would be with my existing 15's. Here's the box design. It's 7 cubes net and has a 3.3 cube down chamber with an 8 X 19 rear deck opening. It's tuned to 35. 1 More view of it.
-
According to the guy who designed it, that is what it will be....
-
Hmmm......I do understand I'll still have some vibration but since the subs will actually be sealed inside the box, I'm sure the trunk rattles will be significantly reduced....
-
Yeah, it'll have an 8 X 19 rear deck opening.....I guess I'd like to know if someone has used this design in a trunk car and did it perform better than a ported box???
-
That seems more complicated than it needs to be. Try a simple ported box, if designed and built properly you will be very happy with the outcome. Well...One thing about this box that I was interested in is that it takes the bass out of my trunk. If I go with a standard ported box, that means I'll need to put some sound deadener to help with rattles....

The specs are right above the first picture...

Bump....Anybody?

Well....I just installed the Scosche ground loop isolator on the RCA's on my Sub amp.....Now I have ZERO noise....I'm not sure why people say they are a bad idea?? I am not able to hear any difference in how my subs sound....So, I'm gonna say that it worked great for me :-) Now I'm thinking I'll test it with the RCA's I originally had to make sure that I don't have any engine noise with them....If so, I'm gonna call the car stereo shop and see if they'll allow me to return the one's the just installed....I'd hope so since their solution didn't completely work....

Hey Guys....I recently installed a SAZ 1500D and I am now experiencing engine noise (a buzzing type of sound). I can unplug the RCA's from the SAZ and it goes away. I was told that I should ground both of my amps in the same place and that might help...Well, I've done that and it hasn't helped. Prior to installing the SAZ I had a JL Audio 500/1 and it didn't have any noise. I've even ugraded my BIG 3 and also ran some 1/0 gauge since installing the amp thinking that may help....But the noise still remains. The RCA's are new and I cannot imagine why they would make any noise since they didn't with my previous amp....Is there a possibility that the SAZ has something wrong? It was a B-Stock amp that I brought from dB-r.... ***Just in case you ask what type of head unit I have, it is a Pioneer DEH-P6000UB

he said Tsunami elites if Im on the same track that Jacob is thinking Id say go to walmart and get the cheapest RCAs they have for some reason there are some high quality RCAs that the amps dont like Hey....I've been gone all day....Well....Here's an update. I went to a local car stereo shop and had them check it. They plugged in a new set of RCA's and the sound got quiter but not completely gone....So....I was told that I probably still have a group loop issue since the sound is coming thru my front stage amp only when the sub amp is hooked up. I'll go to Wal-Mart and buy the Scosche ground loop isolator and see if that helps and if not, then I can just return it.....

Myth. Your whole vehicle is a ground wire. damn it, you beat me to it!! lol.. so grounding the rcas didn't help? while checking your battery connections, check the battery. it acts as a noise filter, and if it's bad/going bad due to the new power being pulled from it, that could be some of the issue. Hmmm....Let me also mention one more thing...I only attached the ground wire to one of the RCA's....Do you think I should try attaching a separate wire to each one?? Also, when I was wiggling on the RCA's I noticed that the sound would change???? I'd sure hate to replace the RCA's since these are nice one's (Tsunami Elite Series) are you using the sub out (if the headunit has one)? if so, the output from it and the input on the amp should both be summed. meaning, basicly a single channel of output, input. but i'd ground both to see. wouldn't hurt. even good rcas go bad. also, USamps had a problem like this. so it might not be rca induced, but rather (because this amp is a b stock), the inputs could have a weak ground inside, thus causing the noise. simply grounding the rcas will fix that though. keep us updated. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee Yeah, I am using a sub out on the radio.....I'll let you know what I come up with...

Yeah, that makes sense....I also forgot to mention it makes noise when the car isn't running.....I'll be checking the radio ground first since that doesn't cost anything. I don't have an extra set of RCA's so I'd have to go to a friends house and borrow his if the radio ground doesn't fix it....
-
I forgot to mention that it just seems odd that this problem didn't exist with the amp I just took out......
-
Well....I just went outside and tried putting a wire on the sub amp RCA's and also the front stage amp RCA's and the sound still was there....I guess I'm gonna need to do some more digging....
-
Thanks Guys...I was just on SMD forum and saw where some people using Pioneer HU's will put a piece of wire on one of the RCA's behind the radio and then ground it to the deck..see this link: SMD Forum...I'm gonna try that first and then I'll then look at re-grounding the radio and lastly replacing the RCA's.....

SAZ 1500D Power Wire Question
Larryt38 posted a topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Hey People....I will soon be the proud owner of the SAZ 1500D!! I am wanting to get your advice on how to properly power the amp. I currently have a car with the stock 105 amp alternator. I've done the BIG 3 with 4 gauge wire. I also have 4 gauge running to my trunk.....It then goes into a capicator and then to a distro block where I have it going to a 2 channel 300 Watt Denon amp and also what will now be the SAZ 1500D.....I'm pretty sure that I will be starving the amp for power....SO...My question is mainly budget related. How can I give the SAZ enough power the cheapest way??? Can I run another 8 guage power wire and just use it for my 2 channel and leave the 4 gauge just for the SAZ...I'd really hate to pull out the 4 gauge and re-run a 1/0 gauge if I don't have to.....I'll be running it at 1 ohm so it'll be pulling a lotta amps.....Thanks for all your help!! -
SAZ 1500D Power Wire Question

Cool...I actually have some good news....I called a friend who is an installer and he just happened to have some 1/0 gauge he took out of an SUV....He said he'd sell it to me for $20!! I'm hoping it's long enough to allow me to re-do the big 3 with it as well...If not, I think I'll just add one more 4 gauge to my big 3 for now... -
SAZ 1500D Power Wire Question
Larryt38 replied to Larryt38's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
How about if I ran another 4 gauge and kept the existing wire in order to save money?? Or would it be hard to find a distro block that I could connect them both too?
