He was so talented. He will be missed. R.I.P. George
  2. You can look into this one, http://cgi.ebay.com/Earthquake-PH2000W-D1-...1QQcmdZViewItem But, you could get two Sundown Audio SAZ-1500D's for $850.00 at SSA's shop and stap them for 3000 rms at 2 ohms! That is within your reach man!
  3. .65 (well slightly under because of my screw up) sealed. i made a truck box for the truck (obvisously), but now i'm driving a civic hatch. i haven't had time to make another box for it, but it will be .65 sealed like the other, just in regular form. i'm a sealed box guy.

  9. I really suggest that you not run that amp at 1 ohm period. You will do very bad things to it if you do run it that low. How is it that you think that you are only getting 500 or so RMS? What is the voltage at the amp? Are you running the Big 3, extra battery, Alt. or, Cap? Other than that ,if you must have more power, Buy an amp that is rated at 1 ohm.

    ohm understanding

You're welcome man. Like I said, the 12 volt has quite a few diagrams that will be really helpful. One thing that I should tell you is that, Once you dip your feet into audio, it will become a passion and you will always want to learn more and, try different setups. Welcome to a brave new world. Check these guys out for subs. http://www.ascendantaudio.com/ I run their Assassins and I love them. The best quality for the money hands down IMO

This is where the budget thing comes into play. A 1 channel amp only has a mono channel( 1 speaker output) A 2 channel has a left and right channel(stereo) and can more than likely be bridged into a mono channel at 4ohms(some at 2 ohms or less but you must be sure that it is recommended by the manufacturer of the amp) A 4 channel amp is two channels front and two channels rear. A really good learning resource can be found at; http://www.the12volt.com/ There is a boatload of info there. It covers alot! Once you start getting an idea of what you want there is a great for sale section on this site. This is the best advice i've got at this point.

Okay heres the next question, are you going to buy a mono(1 channel), 2 or, 4 channel amp? What kind of money are going to spend on the amp? Are you building your own box for the subs? A wall? What kind of car or, SUV? You have to set a budget for your setup even if it is one step at a time.

No man, please do not feel like an idiot. I am no expert myself LOl SVC = Single voice coil DVC = Dual voice coil On a SVC sub you will have one + terminal and one - terminal A DVC will have two of each. Are you planning on using all four of these subs? What kind of amp are you planning on using?

First off, are these four subs SVC or DVC?

  19. A pair. In my previous set up, the pair ran off an Xtant 3300x. I know that the 500m is really under-rated @500 rms. I think that they will be seeing about 750 or so rms w/ the 500m? Thanks
  20. I have bought myself a small hatchback(87 Toyota FX 16) and my 2.5cf box just will not fit. Any box ideas would be welcome as well. Thanks in advance.
  21. I would totally appreciate some help on the box design. I am toying with the idea of going sealed. But, I'd much rather go vented. Then again I have the space restriction thing. I am also about to try to make my first set of pods for the front stage. The Corolla design leaves me w/no choice for mounting options : ( Thanks!
