i may build a regular ported box for it eventually, but with a passiver radiator there is no port noise and no extra volume to add a port. so id say the PR is already the winner edit: i should be takin this to a comp on may 30. im goin to test it at 800 watts at 4 ohms on the sundown.. then burp then with 3000watts at 1 ohm. I saw the vid on youtube of jacob playin with them in a wall socket and they lasted forever with about 700watts to each one.

it would be better if they knew which model it is. and it would be more than a recone as you would need a new basket too.

sundown or stetsom
fritosaregood posted a topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
ive had a saz3000 since summer 08, and this next summer im lookin do double the power in my car, i need help deciding on an amp though. I heard about sundown and stetsom at the same time last summer when i asked around in a different place, and decided on sundown. now i need even more power, at 2 ohms. my choices so far are either to get another saz3000 and strap 2 together, or get a stetsom 6k2d. only problem with stetsom now is they only have the 6k2d in brazil right now. the US supplier said they might have some after april though. any advice on which to get. -
sundown or stetsom

It looks like im goin to have to get the second sundown, the stetsom guys is saying they might not get more of the big amps here for a while. and i think it may be more money getting the stetsom. -
have you played with the tang bands yet.. i look at those for a little while wondering about getting some

thats why i posted my pic, of wat i first thought would make a tline but ended up being a low tuned ported box.

Neat. I'm assuming you don't mean the full wave... that doesn't look 30+ feet long. oh yea. it was quarter wave

Well as far as the PR went, i put it in a box with 4 E8s, now this dual axis box is gettin finished up. First i have to say before when i said audiopulse had horrible customer service i was kind of wrong. I got to email thilo and he offered to help me out, but i also in touch with Mike Singer and he let me get a hold of one of his Axis top assemblies. So thanks to Mike for helpin me finish this up. pics... and a short vid. wired all in series to 8 ohms seeing only 250 watts, playin some test tracks.

I saw a sale for another axis for half off so i jump on it. Eventually ill be filling the back of the car with a big ported box, buf for now wanted to have some fun and build a sealed box, i hope it holds together. all cut up center brace low on glue and i didnt wanna go back to walmart. solution..cut up the bottle getting the first one out of its box that looks good

I made a box similar to this for a 15, a chamber and a very long port it was the length of a 33 hz wave, but it really does end up being a low tuned box with cone control. It loves the lows. i had one of these in it

how would you feel about driving up to batesville or conway for a comp.
