And you determined there was no cancellation and this setup was beneficial how? because, i tried the the solutions ppl said would take the cancellation away, but it only made things quieter, i tried only runnin one sub, got quieter, and i tried isobaric, no sound at all with that
-
ok. so yall say you cant mix sub sizes because they peak at diff frequencies.,, but you also say the reason you can put subs and 6 1/2s in a car is because it peaks a diff frequencies.., Ive mixed 2 12s with 8 and it sounded fine, and ive also had 2 12s firin towards each other,, and everyone one says there is cancellation, but there was none for my application
-
as long as it in separate boxes it will sound alright, if you can get them tune the same..IMO the way i see it is everyone says dont mix diff sizes and brands.. but that would mean you cant have 6 1/2 speakers in a car if you have subs, but if the enclosures are separate its alright to do it

wat kind of car are you puttin it in, ive got an accord, and 2 46lb batts, 40lb amp, 50 lb sub, plus all the dynamat lifts the front suspension in my car about 2-3 inches i would put all the batts together if i was doin it, and the batterys are sealed, so that should make more mountin options -
Electrial questions

i have two 1800 kinetiks for 3000 rms, if you want kinetik batteries there site has a calculater that well determine how many and wat kind you need, those batts with a 200 amp alternator seems to keep enough power supply for me -
i had a hifonics amp that did this before, first one channel would go out but if i turned the system up all the way it kicked back on, then the whole amp would start goin into protect, i tried changin all the wires like he is sayin, and nothin worked so i just had to scrap it, i have a sundown 3000d now and i was just at a comp last weekend, i never used cd, but they wanted me to use theres, so i turned my cd level from my radio all the way up, and i guess that turned up the pre out voltage, and once the volume got past 30 of 62 for over 2 secs my amp would go into protect, so i turned down the cd level and its fixed, so probably turn down all the enhancements on your radio, turn the gain on the amp all the way down, then see if it stays on

why in the hell would you ask about sq and tuning to 50hz...wow. because i wanted to know if it sounds good,,, and the box i have room for isnt big enought to tune lower,.. Tune in the range of 27-34hz. ill try to tune it low, but if i cant get the box big enough to be ported ill have to stick with sealed,
-
It won't. the sub, or the tunin frequency, if i cant get the box big enough to be tuned better ill make it sealed,
-
its goin in the center console

50Hz for that sub is way, way too high to even approach what I'd call "musical"... ive got the audiopulse axis 15 with a 3000 sundown, i wanna add the 8" for some midbass and for when i dont have the big sub on,.. wat would be a good frequenzy,

wats the box tuned to now, and now is the sq? Im gonna put and 8" epic or soundplinter in my car maybe tuned to 50hz or so

fritosaregood posted a topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I just got a sundown 3000d and it since it can run from 10 volts to 18 volts, ive got to thinking of a 16 volt battery setup for the future. But how would i do that and keep the rest of the car that needs to be 12 volts stay at 12 volts? -

16 volt setup question
fritosaregood replied to fritosaregood's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
i think the alternator i have can run a 16 volt setup with an external regulator, but wat is the 12 volt step down, is it just another regulator at 12 volts? -
ok sorry i havent been on here in a while. by accidentally buildin one, i saw a box called a phase box on the internet a while back and built it. and with later research i found it was actually a horn box,
-
its for a house, and a van eventually
-
can anyone help with advice on building a horn box. ive built one, but i dont have a disign program for that style and it sounded flat on a range of frequencies.
