    Hifonics Brutus BXi2608D?

i think those T rockford amps are usually underrated about 700 watts, and ive the hifonic are usually about 20% overrated.

    Transmission Line box

I went to the comp, after my runs I realized I forgot to turn my eq setting back to the louder bass, but it did a 144.1 at 40 hz. i think it did a 137.7 at 25hz. Im pretty sure i coulda got more out of it, but ill have to wait to see

    Transmission Line box

I just finished a build on a trans line box, Its a 1/4 wave 33 hz. But i thought i had read some where that 1/2 wave trans lines were better, but impractical for space. so i thought i would make a box with a 1/4 wave at 33 for daily and 1/2 wave at 66 for comps, but from testin the box in my house the box getts really quiet after about 40-45(guesstimation) when using a reasonce test song, so was my idea of a dual purpose box dumb.. and are the only good trans line boxes 1/4 wave boxes?
  4. The 600 is a nice head unit. I deal with them quite often at work. There's no pause button on the face, and Pioneer has always buried the pause option deep inside the menus. But, there's a pause button on the remote. The 600 has ASR, and Hi-Volt pre-outs, so it's proven itself, to me at least, as a capable unit when pushing a system, even when playing compressed audio. Recommended retail for the unit is $279, $209 is what you'd normally pay for a 500UB. My 590's remote doesnt. i wish it did
  5. laugh it up. but it didnt seem over powered untill i turned it up all the way so i guess it kept up with closer to 800rms. but now i have 105 rms per channel with 3000rms on a sub My gains on my sub amp are pretty much on off and it can EASILY keep up with my front stage with has the capability of having 450w on it. I laughed for two reasons. First no way possible not at all, it was a complete joke. I expect your definition of keep up means playing 135dB at 50hz and your fronts playing 90dB at 100hz which isn't anywhere near keeping up. And second, you are describing it backwards as you should power your sub so that it can blend with the fronts not the other way around. i guess my deffinition is different. all a mean is i could hear words with all the bass, ive been in some ppls cars where they have 1000 rms sub with stock speakers on a new hu and all you here is bass
  6. that statement kinda makes no sense
  7. ok sorry for that bad advice then, but ive always heard just addin another battery puts to much strain on the alternator. but i did the alt first and a week later addin two extra batts for mine. the extra alt alone helped mine out alot though cuz first i started with an 80 amp alt

    Transmission Line box

I must have done something right with this box. i was showin it to some ppl at college today and was playin a sweep from 10 to 100 hz, and around 25~30 my passenger seat was movin back and forth about 1.5 to 2 inches. way better than my last box which had close to the same port area i think. I am goin to a comp this saturday so ill post some numbers from it soon. the last box hit 146.0 im hopin more with this one but this box is tuned lower.

  10. start with the h/o alt. i got the amputator for my accord. that alone pushed my sub so much harder. then i got two of the kinetik 1800s, my lights never dim. i havent tested the voltage with engine rev'd up yet
  11. i dont have the 08 model, but i have the premier 590, i think its same exept the earlier model, when i first got it i liked it. its got a nice eq, good hp/lp filters, the 22 rms output kept up with 1600rms subs, the rca voltage is nice too. but recently i have had a whine sound coming from my speakers and am hearin that its a big problem with pioneer and there pico fuse, and also i was at a comp a month ago and couldnt find a pause button on it, turns out i have to go through two or three menus to pause it. other than that i really like how you go through all the menus too

    4 15 build log

few questions. You said 4 runs of 0 guage. is that from the alt to the batt. or batt to amp. jw and also. did you flare the inside of the ports too, i saw a pic where it looked like you didnt.
  15. I ran into wat i think is a big problem today. here is wat my system consists of: one 15" audiopulse sub on a Sundown 3000D, and an Alpine PDX-5 with goldwood speakers I was drivin down the road, took a sharp turn and all the sudden my sub made a very loud thump sound and then the amp shut off. So i turned everythin off until i got where i was goin and checked it out. I popped the trunk to check my circuit breaker and it was still closed. then i noticed one of the batteries in my trunk had moved. What im pretty sure happened was when i took the turn, the batt tilted and the terminal on the negative post hit both the pos and neg bolts attatching my speaker wire to the sub box. I moved the batt back into place, and turned the stereo back on and all there was was loud static coming from the alpine amp that faded off in about 30 secs, and then turned to engine whine coming out of the speakers. It used to have engine whine but I got a noise isolator and it stopped. Any idea what made it come back? Then i turned the Sundown amp on; it turned on fine, seems to still put out all the power, but when i shut it off, the subwoofer makes a loud "thump" sound? What could be causing this?

    Shorted out Sub/Amp?..messed somethin up

well never mind.. i put the new rca in and it still didnt work. it was just silence from the left front channel that slowly turned to static that got louder and louder, i tried the ground again. and still static. so im pretty sure its the radio. so once i get anothe bonus from work im about a month ill be gettin a new alpine deck.. unless i find one thats better.. but for now i used a y cable to split the rear channels to power my all the speakers. it works, but for techno music its sounds confusing but still thanks for the tips that help get that annoyin thump away

    SAZ-3000D question...

I was it the same boat you are in a while back.. i needed a sub that could put out atleast 2500 rms. so i looked at the Fosgate T2000. but at a shot it was gonna be about 1400. then i heard about sundown's 3000D and i read some of the tests on it. but it was still about 1200. then a dealer was gonna do a memphis 2500 for 1200 so i almost jumped on that but later that day i saw the sundown on sale for 899. so i jumped on that deal.. best decision ever. i can run this thing forever and it always puts out the power

    Shorted out Sub/Amp?..messed somethin up

ok I messed around with everythin today and here is how it went. i ran all the wired for the RCA ground, and reground the HU to the same point i connected them up to the radio. i left out my noise suppressor, which smelt burnt when i took it out. i turned on the alpine amp and there was no whine but alot of static. so i took of the grounds, and still static. so then i started switchin RCA wires all around on the radio and the amp until i found that one channel on the RCAs was causing all the static. im about to go pick up a new one. then i turned on the Sundown amp and turned it off and no thump. so i was happy, but then i tried to play music and no sound came out. so i took of the grounds tried it again turned on and off and it thumps again. so i wired up my relay to turn on the amp and turned it on again, when i turned it off it still made the thump noise. so i figured it was the amp messin up. I started to take the everythin back off, put the remote turn on from the radio back to the amp, but i figured id give grounding the RCAs another try and this time it worked. no thump and it played music. so thanks to all of yall for your help.

    Shorted out Sub/Amp?..messed somethin up

where is the pico fuse i just read another forum and it seems to be a big problem in pioneer/premier hu's It is internal and yes Pioneer has had this issue for years and they refuse to fix the problem. Try grounding the RCA's. ill be doin that tomorrow. idk if i would be able to fix an internal part im lookin at a new alpine hu if none of this stuff works this premier doesnt even have a pause button for cds i have to go through two or three menus to pause it the how too i posted in post 35 is how you fix the pico fuse. you dont have to do it internally i thought that was to fix the RCA's

    Shorted out Sub/Amp?..messed somethin up

nice and indepth. ill be doin that to my deck tomorrow. and i also already have a relay wired to turn on fans for my sundown amp. so ill just disconnect the fans and use that to turn on the amp and see if that stops the thumping I recommend squirrel cage fans blowing across the fins. Here is an example of what I mean. Link i dont know if that would work for my case. i have a fiberglass cover over my amp rack with four holes for the fans to pull out heat and one on top to see the amp and let air in. here is wat it looks like: http://www.geocities.com/fritosaregood/audiopulse_setup.JPG
