  1. LOL Forgot to mention the 250k miles it has on it too on top of that 13 years. Ran like a champ! I thought my car was high, i have a 95 accord with 235K miles. Did you check the voltage at the battery with the car on and off? a low voltage with the car on would make it more of a chance its the alt
  2. I'd say alternator too. This same stuff was happening go my gf's car about a week ago. she was drivin to my house after work got there an said different lights on her dash started goin on and off, no radio in her car right now, so idk about that part. but i checked her voltage. 12.5 V checked it again with the car on 12.1 V. so i looked at the alt. and ..No Belt. it was layin in the front of the motor... so my bet is alternator

    Multiple Sundown 3000

If i were to use 4 or more sundown 3000's, does the BR out work for daisy chaining multiple amps together, or is it only for strapping 2 amps together?

What is the output voltage from the maxxlink
  5. I used one of the Dayton reference 8in in my car for some midbass, it was in a .5 cube sealed box, it had great sq but couldnt seem to handle that much power (maybe 200 rms) so i couldnt turn it up too much. Today i just ordered 4 of the E8s from the presale($60 each). i hope one of those will work out better than the dayton( i think the dayton needs a bigger box to perform better) how in the heck much power are you wanting to send these things? 200+ is crazy. if a midbass can handle 200 watts I'd say it's doing exceptionally well. i was thinking the same, i'll be sending them about 150, and the mids and tweets about 80, off of a rockford T3002 and a T4004 i had an alpine pdx 5 powering everythin, and it was puttin out 100rms per channel to the doors and rear deck. and addin the sub was unnoticeble almost. i think it was because i had it in an undersized box, which is why i posted on here about it because i thought i read something about using .5 cubes for it.

    Hello from south east Ar

nice. and your from arkansas too. You should look into some ARspl comps, i go to them and there is only a few ppl that bring systems they put together and didnt just buy. the last one 6 or 7 ppl had the same subs in the same box. all hit almost the same db

    Amp Clipping

its the output voltage the radio gives through the rca wires. The amp also has an input voltage range, something like .2v to 6v. the higher your rca voltage. the less gain you need on the amp

    Back pack speakers

wat is it with ppl and wantin everyone else to hear your music too. just put on some head phones and keep it too yourself... there are ppl down here that have even started puttin announcment speakers under the hood of there cars and play that music(crap) through those. nobody wants to hear that.

    Amp Clipping

i just means. dont turn your gain and boost on the amp all the way up to where your hu can only be put on volume 10 out of 50 and it already maxes out the amp power output. so to set it right turn the amp gain all the way down, then turn the hu up between 75% to 100% and turn up the gain up until it starts clippin then turn it down until it stops. or you can use a multimeter to get it exact.

    Amp Clipping

clipping is when the sin wave signal your amp should be producing is turned into a square wave, so basically your are tryin to get more power out of your amp that it can produce, if its happening its because your gain is turned up to high

    I NEED HELP! JL w7

i had there bx 1608 amp, it worked for me until i decided to get the sundown 3000, but hifonics doesnt put out how much they are rated for, same for autotek probably, along with crunch and mb quart. all made by maxxsonics

changing the position of you box changed the class you ran in?

    Multiple Sundown 3000

ive heard using those creates more noise in the signal along with increased voltage. another possibility is a bass reconstructor, it would work for increasing my voltage from 4 to 8, and help with makin music from my zune sound better, but it would get expensive if i needed more than 1. I read a post on here a few weeks ago about the car that went to the finals with 16 saz 1500s, do you know how the rca's on that could have been wired

    Multiple Sundown 3000

Technically you won't lower the voltage - in parallel circuits the voltage is the same. Have never had any issues splitting them to run two strapped pairs thats wat i had thought before, but i talked about splitin the sub out from the hu to two amps on here before and i was told it would split the voltage. and when i hooked it up like that it did seem to make the sundown amp put out less power so i had to turn up the gain

    I NEED HELP! JL w7

that amp might not work out well for that sub. You would either run the sub at 3 ohms or .75 ohms. if you do 3ohms you'll be gettin around 330rms from that amp and at .75 ohms that amp might go into protection since it is only rated down to 1 ohm. I think the older autotek amps could play at lower than 1 ohm, but not the newer ones. i would say to get a better amp too. your powerin an expensive sub with one of lowest of the autotek amps

so how would i wire up more than two amps without havin to split my rca wires which would lower the voltage from the rca's

    RD Audio 18" Alpha V.2...?

good luck fittin that in that car, there is a guy that host some comps around here and he has 2 rd 18s in a hatchback, he is usin the same amp as you too, idk which type of subs they are, but he had to go seal for lack of space for the subs. hes got a triple baffle to hold the woofers on top of the box that already had a triple baffle front. as for using the same box for both types. i think if you look at the Bl of the subs, if they are very close to the same the box size should( i think )stay the same.
