Just wanted to thank the ones that have answered my questions and thank everyone for not being asses. I have not got "why would you do that""Who would do that""are you an idiot" ect ect. I am not new to car audio but I am new to the methods, formulas, and all. I only knew how to do what the manual said when you get you sub or amp. I am learning and enjoying the chit out of it. I love reading on my new found forum(SSA). Thanks everyone.

ya know that from expereince. Thats were I have done a lot of reading and with all the downtalking I think I learned more about being a $ick than anything.
-
very nice and clean, how do they sound?

I like that. Looks good, I actually just build a box for my wifes car here a couple weeks ago and painted her port red with black carpet also. I think it look good. I didn't do any raised stuff in the box like yours (which is sick) but I wanted to just not that good with carpet, yet.

99 Dodge ram extended (quad cab what ever thaey call it) cab. I think I could get 14 cu ft. gross and still have my front seats functional and stay even with the rear window.

I was looking at getting a SS RLP 18 but I came across a good deal on one 15" REVO and would buy another. My question is are they good for a daily loud setup? I have done SPL subs in the past but want a low end monster now that is loud to the ear doesn't matter about a meter we don't have any compitions here anyway. Would they work good?

I think I got the power (3000 rms) and I was thinking 5 maybe 5.5 cu. ft. each, what do they like for tunning?
-
It would be ported

Could it be a 12" RD Audio SHW with an extra slug? I know that the 10's you actually have to split the box because the motor is wider that the basket (11" If I remember right).

Well I currently have a solox 18 and I know that they are two different subs but I got the opertunity to pick up an 18 that hasn't been used for a used price and then I figured I would purchuse another to even it out. I understand that the 2 subs are totaly different. The RLP's will see about 1200 rms. I know thats a little over rated but I figured in the 4 months that I have owned the solox I have cranked it 2 maybe 3 times for about 2 seconds a time so I figured I would be pushing it but should be ok. I would install them in 10 cubes at 27 hz in a dodge ram extended cab. I think that they would sound good and still get pretty loud but would they get louder than the solox?

I was looking at the FI BL 18 for the price but I am really wanting to try the Sound Splinter RL-P18, Plans are 2 18s in a wall, what does everyone think of the two (pros, cons, what you like about which sub) thanks for any input provided.

Thanks for your input greatly appriciated

That is true what would the RL-P's like for tunning? This setup isn't going to be for copetitionssince we don't have any around really. Sometimes a local shop will put something on and have a meter there for everyone to compete for fun. I want to be able to be loud (which about any 18 can be) and I would love to move some air. My current set-up gets loud just no air movement.

Thats where my biggest problem comes in, my amp is rated at 1500 @2 ohms and 3000@1ohm, it would work great for 2 bls but it would be a little under or over for the RL-P's so a new amp would be in order
-
Sorry I guess I should have added that because it has to do with everything, Its going to be a wall and I figured I can get right at 11 cu. ft. after port and speaker displacement ported at 32 hz.

Well I'm 28 (probobly to old for this stuff but how cares) and from a small town, so been around car audio for about 14 years be have been really getting into it here the last year or so, I've been a frequent reader on ROE and CA and heard good things about this site. Figured I would come on over and see what else I can learn and if anyone will provide me with some input when needed.

Not sure on the guage of wire but the box sounds good, I'm thinking about doing 2 18" BL's let me know how you like it.
