What amp, subs and head unit are you running? Any eq's or LOC's?
-
Yes. In the correct environment and enclosure..
-
Good subs for the money. And yes they get loud. I just bought a pair to audition.
-
A buddy of mine had a pair of Type R 12's bandpassed running off an MRV-1507 amp in a 99 Eclipse. Yes, it was loud as chit. But come on. What subs wouldn't be loud in that environment and how many problems did Alpine have with those amps? And how many of you have had issues with the new PDX?
-
Are we talking F1 Status or otherwise? Alpine has made some nice head units and processors. There is no doubt about that. But components, amps, subs..... Notta fan.
-
I have built a few ALL ALPINE systems at my customers request but I was never that impressed.
-
I would say you hear more good reviews than bad on just about anything. Most people prefer to convince themselves that they like what they purchased. As far as subs go. Anything can sound good in the correct environment. I have installed a fair share of Alpine products over the years and I never understood the hype on the Type R's nor have I ever been a huge fan of their amps. Even Alpines head units have taken a fall.

he's got his 12w7 in JL's power sealed box powered by a JL 1000/1. Would one 15" BL powered by the Sundown 1200D get louder? In the same environment. YES....
-
I would not recommend any current Alpine product. The Diamond D6's are pretty much crap and I own both.
-
I relay should always be installed on the remote wire
-
Haha, no Using the same letters as the amps... I will have E, X, and Z series woofers when the lines fill out. These are great sounding drivers too Dizzle, not just SPL Frequency range? Enclosure Specs?
-
Z series. What are you owned by Pioneer?
-
That is a crazy install. What are the odds of that change staying in place?
-
Looks like fun but I am confused about the deadener getting installed over top of plastic.
-
Dual 1 ohm or 2ohm coils?
-
Awesome. Now prove you have one and show some pics...

That is nice huh... Did anyone notice the wood screws holding the wires into the BCM? -

Partially true but two of the shops I have received a few redoes from are some of the most expensive shops around. They both do big time installs and have been featured in hundreds of magazines. They aren't fast and they are far from cheap. They both charge for things they never even did and you can see the outcome. -

Good choice. Most of the quality installs I have seen lately have come from DIYer's. It seems most shops have inexperienced installers or installers that have just gotten burnt out or lazy. It is all about the money and not about the customer these days. The car audio industry needs some form of regulation. You pretty much need a license or degree to do anything else in this country but apparently it is no big deal to stick an inexperienced teenager under the dash of a new car and let them go to town... A little stereotypical don't you think True though Well big city shops must suck arse then. In my town of 55,000 people we have five shops, one if which I work at, and none of them would do chitty work like that. You are 100% correct. Location makes a huge difference. Now there are quality shops in every city but the larger companies especially in the larger cities have made chit like this their trademark. I grew up in North Dakota and this would never fly up there. The sad thing is there is nothing protecting the customer and I have seen a lot of this. You would think that the shops turning out work like this would be the ones closing up shop but it looks more like it is the small quality shops that are the ones suffering. -

One of these systems was over $20,000, one was about $3,000 and the other $6,000. They all sounded terrible and were a complete mess. -

I do not work for a shop as I am involved in some other things but I keep car audio in my back pocket and continue to install. -
