    help deciding on new box

I have never done fiberglass and more than likely do not have enough time right now to get into that type of a project. Right now I have the sub facing the rear of the car. It is crossed over at 80Hz and I stuffed the box with some polyfill. Thanks for the help.
  2. I have a 99 mustang with a 12 D2. Right now it is in a prefab box that came out to 1.56 cubes before displacement. I am very happy with this setup but I think it could be better. I want increbible output with the best sound quality. Would it be advantagious to get a new box built even if I stayed sealed? I am worried that I box around 2.0 cf tuned to about 28 hz is going to be too big to fit in my tiny little mustang trunk. Should I stick with the box I have or would I benifit from a new box? Any thoughts or input is greatly appreciated. Thanks

    help deciding on new box

I don't have the mach system. I don't even have rear speakers in the car. I would rather not take the rear seat out because I would prefer to be able to get it in and out. I still have the spare tire in the car so access to it would be nice. I have a set of golf clubs that take up the front section of the trunk but other than that I do not use it. I listen to all types of music, anything from metal to rap to some techno. I am using a Memphis 1000D to power the driver but changing the amp is another consideration. Just not too sure what I would get to replace it.
  4. I have a 12" D2 in a sealed prefab box that is about 1.35 cuft afetr displacement. I am running it off of a Memphis PR1000. The subs sounds good but I think it could sound better and get a little louder. Right now it gets a little too "boomy" for my tastes. Here are two box types that I have been considering, please help me decide. The first box is 2.0 to 2.3 cuft sealed. The second box is about 2.0 ported to about 27hz. I don't want to be too loud but I would like some good output form this speaker while still sounding very good. Could you give the the good and bad of each box and maybe compar them to each other. Oh yeah and it is going in a mustang if that helps. Thanks

    same old question different car

It is a 99 mustang. So 2.0 cubes tuned to 27 hz? Is 27 too low?
