SSA Dcon's are ready to ship!!
sick6ness replied to Aaron Clinton's topic in Sound Solutions Audio (SSA®)
Well I have one 12" going off only 400 watts(2ohm). I didn't set my gains with my o-scope because when I do, its too loud for me. So I have them set moderately enabling me to blend them with the fronts better. -
I voted for the RL-p. I just want to hear one in real life so bad. If you get that for her, we meeting up again hah for a quick listen

haha . ^Has a 7" midbass that I want to rub against

Did you like how it sounds? I wanted to go sealed just cause I wanted a real flat curve. And I got exactly that. Blends really well with my front stage -
BIG 3 with wire smaller than 0 gauge

Depending on your amps power draw. There is no harm in using 4 gauge, still better than stock. -

For sure man mines in a 1.2cf sealed box, really needs a good break in. Will do log soon. Here's a teaser pic. Will carpet box in a bit, going raw for now. -

SSA DCON GIVEAWAY! 2 SUBS!
sick6ness replied to Mark LaFountain's topic in News, Announcements, and Lobby
The winner of this is going to be lucky. They will be surprised on these subs.. Sorry I haven't given a review on mine yet. But I still want more listening time, the review will be done soon. I would love to win a pair of these for my brothers car or for my fathers truck. He likes how mine sounds. 1)Alpine MRP-M450 but if I won I would buy a new amp (Sundown, or PDX) cause it would be going in a family members car. 2) I did a build log on one of my installs. (HAT drivers, with a lot of deadening.) Did other installs for my friends. 3)350+ posts 4) Of course 5)I listen to everything from Smooth Jazz, to rock. Also have a nice collection of Reference discs including IASCA discs and most of the Focal discs. 6)Any forum specific? Will do -
2002 Caddy on bagz...8 Fi BTL 18's, 2 RF T15k amps (new vid pg 31)

Steve if you don't mind me asking. What does a project this big roughly cost? -
They get loud enough for me. My set is eating up every bit of the 150rms I give them. But everyone's opinion of loud is different.
-
I will agree with you that high end crossovers sound better than anything, but there expensive to buy\build!
-
Active all around. At first I was running passive, then I ran new speaker wire and got the 9887 and it made such a difference in SQ and how loud they could get without distortion. Also makes it easier to blend the sub with your fronts.

Alpine CDA-9886
sick6ness replied to ohhsosmooth's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
For rap that would be fine -
Yeah I used to work for home depot in the lumber department. He's correct about not being responsible for exact cuts. Eventually I got to know the saw better and was able to make exact cuts for people. But if the person really doesnt care your screwed. You can try to measure out all the pieces on the board and use a T-sqaure to sketch it out. Then have the associate cut on the lines.

Alpine CDA-9886
sick6ness replied to ohhsosmooth's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Well I have the 9887 and I love the thing, has all the features I need. I like my decks nice and simple but made well. Im sure youll be satisfied with the 9886. A flip up might look fancy but do the same thing the 9886 will do. -
This is going to be for a 12" dCON and I want to put it in its recommended sealed enclosure which is 1.2 cu ft. Just want you guys to double check on my specs for the box build, making sure the volume is right and all. Also do I need to use some of that box fill? If so how much Thanks guys, -Mike
-
Ok I was thinking about doing that, just wasn't sure how people normally do it. So on the 13.03 just round down to 13 then. That makes everything a lot easier.
-
Ok so here are the pieces I am going to need. Tomorrow I want to build the box the problem is the measurements. How am I going to measure for example top/bottom 14.53" accurately? When I convert it to a fraction to make it tape measure friendly I get 53/100. Which is not on a standard tape. What do you fellow box builders do in a situation like this. Am I overlooking something here?
-
seal off the entire trunk have it act as the enclosure and take out your rear seats lol
-
Ok, are these dimensions good though?
