Hi, First post here.. Looking for some help on purchasing.. I've decided on the BTL series, 18s.. I'm slightly limited on cubic space, unless I go hog wild (which is still possible) and I figure with the minimums for both being 5 cubic feet that I might as well go for the higher end (Unless the new BTLs have a different minimum, then I may have to rethink this.). I do think I am leaning more toward a daily driver, as the vehicle IS my daily driver. The first question is with regards to ohms. I've never done a 1 amp to 1 speaker configuration so I'm confused. The amp is an Audiobahn A2200HCX amp. I will be using one to power each speaker. The amp is listed as being 1 ohm stable, but the manual for some reason doesn't list a 1x speaker configuration, though it does say that it is bridgeable. A manual for a later version of the amp (for the A2200HCT) does list a 1x config. To better explain, here's the specs from the A2200HCX manual: INTO 4 OHMS @ 12.5V DC 2 x 200W INTO 2 OHMS @ 12.5V DC 2 x 400W INTO 1 OHMS @ 12.5V DC 2 x 800W and heres the A2200HCT: INTO 4 OHMS @ 12.5V DC 2 x 200W INTO 2 OHMS @ 12.5V DC 2 x 400W INTO 1 OHMS @ 12.5V DC 2 x 800W INTO 4 OHMS @ 12.5V DC 1 x 400W INTO 2 OHMS @ 12.5V DC 1 x 800W INTO 1 OHMS @ 12.5V DC 1 x 1600W The 2x configs are the same, so is it safe to thing that the 1x's may also be the same, or is this a wrong thing to assume? And to further complicate, based on the two scenarios above.. Which would be the better way to go? A. Dual 1 Ohm, wire each voice coil to left / right of the amp, B. Dual 2 Ohm, wire in parallel, bridged on amp, hope for best.. (This should be a 1 Ohm load correct?) C. Some other unthought of option.. Thanks for any info.. After this I may have some box questions as well. D`Arvit Reehmicks
