    Silverado Ext. Cab

I have a silverado extended cab and was wondering how you guys think this would sound with 2 ssd 10" powered by 900 watts rms @ 2 ohms http://subthump.com/Chevrolet-GMC-Sub-Boxes/Silverado-Sierra-Extended-Cab/99-06-GM-Extended-Cab-Dual-10-Downfire-With-Amp-Space.html The volume is more than what is recommended for the subs, would that be bad?

Even if the sub was flush with the hole there still wouldn't be that much room.

Probably less, its hard to tell when its all sitting upside down, its hard to fit by hand between the floor and sub, i dont think it will be an issue anymore though.

Yeah I just had to adjust everything a bit, got it to where i want it now, sounds pretty good imo. Pretty sure that box was not meant for those subs though lol, i had to lift the box a little more than an inch so the surround wasn't touching the floor.

Ok so I have everything and it's all hooked up, but it does not sound right and I was wondering if I had this wired correctly? I have it wired according to this...http://www.the12volt.com/caraudio/woofer_configurations.asp~Q~2~I~12

    Silverado Ext. Cab

Little update, due to unforseen circumstances, I am getting Q's instead of ssds..., should be here monday, and I may be selling my current setup with the amp tomorrow, so I am still looking for suggestions for an amp...I would really like a saz-1500, but thats just a bit too expensive for me, I would really like to keep it below $400... Maybe a saz-1200...unless there is something mo' better in that price range for more power

Yeah I don't know what I was thinking at the time lol, I emailed them and asked to change it.

Ordered the subs and the enclosure, what would be a good amp to give those more power without destroying the ol' bank, preferably below $350? I am sure it is going to sound good with the 900 I am giving them now, but, I am always hungry for more

2000 Silverado, I just want good loud sound, I'm not going for huge SPL numbers, and I'm not a huge SQ guy...yet, monetary reasons, lol...someday though. That enclosure I listed fits right underneath the back seat. I might later get an amp to supply them each 800 watts...we'll see.

I was looking at those atrends and they look nice but I sort of like the amp rack right there on the box. Thanks guys, seems like a plan is coming together...

Woofer clearance in a sealed box

So by half the hole width you mean the hole correct? So what would that be approx?

Woofer clearance in a sealed box

Not to hijack this thread or anything, but I was looking at some ssd's and they do have the hole on the back, do they need room behind them to breathe?
  20. I read the sticky but I wanted to make sure I was correct, I have a alpine type r 10" dual 2 ohm sub and a kenwood KAC-9104D amp which is 500 watts rms @ 4 ohms. So is it; Voltage = sqrt(500 watts x 4 ohms) ?
  21. Yeah that's what I did, sounds good, I take it easy on the volume, and hope that it goes well.
  22. Hmm, I just found out that the older version of the type r's which I have are only 300 watts rms...
  23. So wire it like this: and set it to 22.36 volts? When I had it to 40 volts, at 48/60 volume it was only moving maybe 1/8" peak to peak.
  24. Yes I mean when I had it to half it sounded good to my ears, at 40 volts which is a third away from minimum, I cannot hear it.
  25. So I guess the dmm I had was on the fritz so I tried a different one and I set it to 40 volts, I can't hear the sub work at all. The tone was more noticeable through my door speakers than the sub. The gain setting is maybe a third from the lowest setting at 40 volts, it started at half when I got it out of the box. I had it at 2/3 before. What's the deal?
