well show me what you think will work please. i look alot but i have never heard nor seen any for my self. maybe someone can chime in about the comps..the only comp set that i've had was the alpine type x 5.25's. sounded decent but i know it's better out there. try looking toward cdt, pg, or boston. the last time i heard a boston comp set it sounded good to my ears but that was awhile ago and i don't know if they are still on top of their game. edit:forget cdt i forgot about the $300 budget

honestly dude, if rap is all you truly listen to then I wouldn't even bother. i probably would just get a nice comp set and the midbass and call it a day.

so what are some good processors out there that can handle the job? as far as alpine goes the only option i have with them is the Imprint(pxa-h100) -

don't all answer at once!! -
first off, I never new anything about fi, re, sundown, soundplinter just to name a few. all i knew was the big box brands kicker, jl, alpine. For me youtube vids shed some light on the underground car audio brands so I am thankful for that. i came upon this site from looking at fi youtube vids and just seeing what those damn things were doing to people's ride so i was hooked at that point. found fi's website and the rest is history.

can someone tell me the general frequency ranges for each speaker or is it personal preference? thanks guys -tweeter -midrange -midbass -subwoofer
-
Good starting points, but to me sub should be lower. More like 40hz or lower if possible. Part of the reason being the lower you can get your sub crossed over the easier it will be for you to get the mystical and much sought after "up front" bass since you set your subs @ 40hz where do you set your ss filter?

thanks good info there!!

i have a 99 mustang and was looking at the 200 amp alt. how much is it and where can i buy it from?
-
im no pro just a beginner and still learning about box building but the one thing ive noticed is that its probably just easier to choose the airspace u want for your sub and then build a little bigger to compensate for port, sub, and bracing displacements. i'll be using the link below to calculate my areo's. i could be wrong but that just seems more logical imo. u might also need a bigger port to reduce that port noise. linear team

life wouldv'e been a lot simpler with weatherstrip foam

audiobahn a2300 hct
nickeveready replied to thewarden's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I'm amazed you could get two 15"s in a mustang trunk, was it a fox-body? lol. no a 99, 15's only needed 1.5cf a piece it was a tight fit though it sounded good while it lasted though -

nickeveready replied to thewarden's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
i know everybody talks about about audiobahn being overrated and they more than likely are, but i had the a1500hct on 2 round solo baric 15's @ 2ohm in my mustang and it made the 15's hit pretty low and never got hot. i will never buy again but if u already have it then use it. i still like audiobahn comps though i don't care what anybody says..lol -
Do sealed boxes have a tuning frequency?
nickeveready replied to frankyp00's topic in SPL & SQ / Fabrication
a FI btl is not recomended for sealed enclosures anyway...if u want sealed try a Q -
how did u get that port displacement? wouldn't u do 6.25x23.57=/1728 for each port

thinkin about getting a 2001-2003 chevy tahoe 2wd. this will just be a weekend driver so gas is really not an issue. are there any websites that sale a complete kit that won't break the bank. i jus need sumthin real basic all 4 corners raised and all 4 corners slammed..no fbss or 3-wheel motion is needed. also if is anyone running bags on their whips about how much was it installed. and also if anyone knows a shop in their town that can ship out a kit for the low let me know.

yeah i already checked out air ride, it's got to be sumthin else less expensive
