    Supercharger video we shot...

That's so tight. My dream truck (which I'm figuring out a way so I can have) is the new Tacoma Xtra Cab. That Tundra all blacked out with labels removed is so badass.

Worst comes to worst just piece it together while its in the trunk. At least you know that no one can steal your box

    recone finally finished and done...

Interesting. Yea it is cool to have a wife that has that same interest as you. But I hope you don't have kinds in the car when you play your music. They wont be able to hear $hit when they are old enough to have their own system...

    Need Expert Advice

Funny thing is your questions aren't right. 1) You don't care, you want louder 2) You don't listen to music with lows anyways 3) Sealed isn't for you 4) Valid question, ding, ding, ding. BUY THE BL. After thinking about it: 1) I do want louder, I just wanted reassurance it was going to sound alright. 2) 99% of the time you're probably right on this one 3) You're right.. Its time for a change - I have always used sealed boxes with relatively POS drivers (kicker comp vr's etc..) and frankly I'm tired of the same old thing. 4) You're Right again.. This is my first entry into serious car audio (obviously) so I have been a little hesitant. I have honestly been trying to avoid making such a noob-ish thread by searching/reading on here to find what I needed, but I felt I needed some personalized advice. The next step for me is going to be designing and building a box. My construction skills are solid, but I have no f'ing clue how to properly design a ported box. I have been playing with the calculator a bit, but I'm still pretty much in the dark. So, needless to say, I'm going to be asking around for some help figuring out port size and length, etc. ///M5 is always right, I learned that the hard way too SSA has some calculators on their site. Speaker Stands

Nevermind I found these and I really like them. http://www.bello.com/index.php?partition=s...amp;categ_id=43 This is on the line of what I am looking for. I am considering these. Can anyone convince me otherwise?

    Speaker Stands

Yes. I am particularly looking for an all square tubing with a matte black finish. With a diagonal post. 24"-30" in height. Has anyone seen anything like it?

    12" FI SSD

I would recommend getting a 15" with maybe a Kicker zx750.1. Maybe would meet your budget? What is your budget btw?

box for 2 18 Q's in ht application..

Make a build log. I'm curious to what you decide to do.
  11. And if you really don't have the patience or don't feel like putting in the effort of creating your DIY shopping list, go to www.partsexpress.com or and take a look at their Speaker Building Kits. You just click "Buy" and they give you everything you need to build some speakers. They even include an instruction manual

    2012 AD Are you ready?

Haha, that would be sweet. But hopefully when I'm around 80. Now would be way too inconvenient.

    random ohm question

No. There are many ways to wire subwoofers. But I'll shorten it in a summary. IF you buy a DUAL Voice Coil 1ohm. You can only have a final load of .5 or 2 ohms. IF you buy a DUAL Voice Coil 2ohm. You can only have a final load of 1 or 4 ohms. Here is an easy converter so you don't have to think anymore http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/rftech/woofer_wizard.asp# There isn't a 1ohm diagram but just apply it just like you see here

    Building a box

That is a good question. I am going to need to brace my box I'm about to make. My plan was to take the scrap pieces of MDF and just cut it into triangles and sticks and screw away

    Just ordered my Q18.

In 2 weeks (when I get my paycheck) I am ordering a QSC GX5. I only plan on running 1 woofer so that amp pushes out a single channel of 850 watts RMS at 4 ohms. As far as I know I won't be using every watt so that amp is more than enough
