    Am I missing something?

Well my goal is to complete a 2.1 channel system for home theater/audio. I currently just finished my build for my Fi Q18. I would post pics if I knew how to do it. But past the point. My next goal is to get rid of my Sony A/V receiver and replace it with quality audio components. And I think I have it down, but I feel like I'm missing something. I need an experts overview. I want an Equalizer, and I guess the ones I have been looking at have a built in crossover in them. How convenient this is the Equalizer/Crossover that I've been looking at http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/pshowdetl.c...FTOKEN=50274444 Then I wanted to use one of these amps (haven't decided yet, I will see how I like the Crown I already have) for the speakers that I want to build. http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cf...tnumber=245-650 or http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cf...tnumber=245-465 Then for the sub out I will connect that to my current amp http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cf...tnumber=245-435 Other than the cables (which wont be hard to put together, just time to find the adapters), am I missing something?

    Am I missing something?

Alright...I just googled "Jon Marsh's designs" and many variations of that quote and I got nothing. Is there some secret underground website that I don't know about?

You mean if it passes through the TV then I will lose audio clarity? I was going to use the TV as basically a preamp.

SSA iCon, my present, from parents

I believe the amp in that link is overrated. I almost bought that amp before reading many reviews that stated that it could barely push half its rated power. But like Jim said, its not like you need that much power, so even half that power would be enough. With that said though, I would try and look for a pro amp that isn't overrated and can guarentee you clean power. Look into the QSC GX5 http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/pshowdetl.c...FTOKEN=50274444.

    Box Build for MikeMartin

Yea for my build I used spray paint but it was a black stone textured paint. It looks badass.

    Am I missing something?

I was planning on building a set of these speakers. Its a kit but for my first try, I think a kit is for me. http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cf...tnumber=302-980 But I don't want a receiver anymore. I plan on hooking up my audio/video connects directly to the TV. Then use the audio out to the crossover, then to the amps.

    Am I missing something?

I guess I should reword "Home Theater" and say I will be using it for movies too. I would say 80% music, 20% movies. And also that the room is only 12' by maybe 10'? Its a little small. I couldn't get the rears to work the way that they should. Not to mention I'm too young and too poor to spend thousands of dollars on a top of the line audio system. I just know that my Sony A/V doesn't give me the sound I could get. I want to have a pretty nice 2 channel system that I can easily say that I got my money's worth. I haven't really used a device to see if my response is flat or not, I am just using my ears. I just want the opportunity adjust if need be. I could just get a crossover with sub out, but like I said, I want options.

    One BTL 15

That's your only question? Then why bother making a thread anyways...

    18" BL

A single 1500D can power a single BL just fine. If you want to power both of the BL's to their rated power then yes, the 3000D will work for you. Maybe just buy another 1500D and run the amps separately?

    Fi Bl or Q

Is it a problem with the whole box size? Or just getting it into the trunk... If it's just getting it into the trunk, you could build your box in maybe 2 or 3 separate pieces. That way you can easily get them inside your trunk. From there you piece it together while in your trunk. It will be a pain in the ass but it is a possibility. If you do it that way then your box will be virtually unstealable

    Custom built 18" Beast

Geez man. Why so negative? I'm sure he knows what he is doing. Stop criticizing and just sit back and watch his project.

    What? Where?
  15. That's weird. I've had my Alpine CDA-9883 for almost a year now and I haven't had a single problem with it.

    Box Build for Bose301s

I like being able to make any wiring combination on the outside of the box, in case I want to parallel or series the coils so I can get a 1 or 4 ohm load. Looks awesome BJ, great work as usual. Thanks for everything you did, now all that has to happen is the Mags need to ship. I didn't know you could do that. That's pretty cool.

    What Would You Pick?

Maybe you should answer that question for yourself. Build the easy sealed enclosure first. Then build the more complicated ported enclosure later. Compare, and decide. Then you can be a dude to answer the future threads with a caption "Which box?!?!"

    debating need help

Is it absolutely necessary for you to have that much power when not competing? Is it that important for you to be that loud? How much money would that cost you? And is ebay the place to buy other peoples old cars? i can find one for about $1200 2006 and it have 25,000 You didn't even answer all my questions...

    2010 Chevrolet Camaro

bingo And I don't totally understand the whole "Lets make a new car look like a old one". The whole retro thing confuses me. The past is the past, and lets keep it that way. Its just to kind of bring back memories. Its like "old inside new". I mean I can't say I don't like it. But I also can't say I would go and buy this car. It's only make to float some people's boat, not everyones.

Haha. Total ass. That's something I haven't read on this forum yet. o like the kicker L anything IMO. What I meant was I haven't heard anyone describe what they don't want in those terms before. I was kind of funny.
