So, on my local racing / auto forum there is alot of action brewing... as it's finally spring-like around here. Linked below are some vid's for you guys. The Civic that You'll see as a recurring theme is the current juggernaut of the area. Mr. Smith has spent the past winter season making this Hatch into a monster sleeper. When I say sleeper, I mean that he has $280/wheel tires mounted on the STOCK steelie 13" wheels. Boosted & Sprayed... that's all that anyone knows about the mods. These are from a 30-50mph roll. So, some of You may have an idea why I ask. For the others, I've known my Girlfriend for ~10 years now, been with her ~7years of that time. We've been deemed married by commonlaw for a little while now Well, bout time to make it official. I'm taking her on vaca in a few weeks and will pop the Ques then. Which means, all of the rings that I've been perusing lately need to either Jump into my pocket -or- meld together to become a custom ring as I see fit. Either way, there will be an exodus of moolah involved. I've always heard the old adage that a gentleman should spend 1/4 of his salary on the ring. I don't know where this came from or if anyone abides by it (I don't)... so I was curious: What do You guys think is a good Rule of Thumb? -Nick

going to pick up the ring Wednesday night. Platinum setting - cross between anniversary (main stone + one stone on either side) & solitare (single main stone). 0.92 C main stone, VS2 clarity, G color. 0.25 x 2 side stones, VS2 clarity, G color. It's the ring that I love. She still doesnt have a clue about any of it - But I'm pretty damned sure that she'll like it. After shopping for the 1st week, I stopped looking at prices altogether. In the end, the ring I chose was ~$7k. -Nick

how long did it take Ecko? i say about 2 weeks, he's probably clipping the hell out of it but cant tell because of the design (or just doesnt know any better lol) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> i remember a great thread on the "sound of clipping" on sin. talking about how the JL, XXX, Brahma, and H2 can possibly reproduce the "clank" noise of a clipped AC form.
