Picked up a couple of 15's to see how loud I can get them in a wall. Wont really be able to test them incar until ~March. Once that's done, they're gonna get the socket. Picked up a couple of 12's to make as loud as possible in my Trailblazer for chits & giggles. Will prolly sell them to the non-net savvy kids. I will save one pair as paperweights / decoration. Every once in a while drop them in for the local car shows and such... inverted (showoff that beastly motor).

Treo's are always appealing... I havent played with one in a few years though. From what I see around, they are still up to snuff. Besides, all the hot tickets from CES will be available in a few months (more/less).

Been thinking about the 2005 dBDrag class matrix since yesterday morning... Since I've been forced upto SS... but can still fit into other sanctioning bodies with a full wall, it changes the perspective. I'm just going to put the audio behind getting the car running (drivetrain swap). After that I'm thinking about four 15"s (DD 3515, RE XXX, etc.) and a Pair of Orions. Fun & loud enough.... we'll see in a few months now. Thank you gentlemen, for your opinions. -Nick

This is true... But right now I'm a lil upset about dBDrag. -and- I dont want to run 18vdc. Nor do I have the desire to drive 800 miles to find a certified. There wasnt 1 certified in NY State last year. I was really only going to wall her off for chits & giggles. I've my own TL, I can be happy knowing that I broke 160, even if everyone else doesnt. LoL Of course, right now, I'm going to put the whole audio thing off for a while. For this car at least.

BTW - you can run alot more then 4 now.... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> say what?? for street C?? I gotta check this out, that might change my class <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Per the matrix... unlimited amps. Conductor rule still in place.

Oh yes, I plan on stiffening the whole chassis. I'm just starting in the rear... I've heard the stock rack should hold up alright, but I know there is far better out there. If you would, I would greatly appreciate it!! Whenever you get around to it, let me know I'll send yah the cover price! Hmm yea, this town used to be big on Mustangs, alot of friend's have run one or two, so I've kept up with the 'zines a lil. I still pick up MM&FF now and again. Welp, I'm off to get into the forum's you've linked! Thanks.. BTW, there are a few snapshots I posted up in the 'Show Off' forum -Nick

Nah.. that wall has to get ripped out. It came with the car (LOL), only 6 cubes(?), tuned way to high, and fairly weak. In the hands of the prior owner, she only put up 148.X legal on the TL with (2) 9515's & a Massive 2kw amplifire. This wall'll come out after I have some Funky Pup fun.

This also means that I can take 200 lbs of frickin 'CRX box' out of my truck for good! LoL

dBDrag SM just f'd me in the a. Wall cannot touch sides or roof. -and- I'm not going to run 16+ vdc electrical. Per the '05 Prelim Matrix. Cant wait for full text rule book now. <Ugh>

April got me the garage heater.... 120,000 BTU torpedo...

5.8 is fairly direct... hmmmm My biggest concern on the 5.8 vs. 5.0 is the weight. This car is an LX 4banger originally... As you might have noticed though, there'll be a bit of extra weight just rear of the B-Pillar. This'll help the front / rear distribution, but nothing else I can have a 5.0 (nearly turnkey) & t-5 from Chris as well, so this makes it much easier for me. BTW, just cruising, the occasional 1/8 mile, and the ever rare road course (there are just a few within a decent drive from Me). So my first project is really rear-end & suspension. Thanks -Nick

I realize that and do not look forward to 5 weeks for the 9915 to become the 9917. However, the big argument I have there is that I have the 99 series and would have to shell out another 800-1g for MT's. When 9917's are very well proven. I'd surely appreciate it. I like the idea of (2) subs as well, but refer to above. Also, volume limitations... (1) 17" in 20 cube's > (2) 15"s in 20 cubes when it comes to actual listening. Not that this car will ever see an RTA, but.... Thanks again Gent's BTW - the tow is dropping the car off tonight, I'll snap some pics. -Nick

Thank you much... -Nick

Thanks for the links... Right now, primary goal is to get her into the garage (which entails getting the Brother-in-laws POS out of it), and a quick clutch job. I've been around alot of Foxy's, but have very little wrench time on them. I used to work primarily on Commercial & light duty trucks in a former life. Alot carries over of course, but I know these have their... quirks (?). Gotta study up on the 5.0 swap... maybe 5.8.... Thanks again, -Nick

Happy Happy Happy New Year's to everyone!! I hope that 2005 will be better for you all by leaps & bounds!

What competition assocation do you prefer???
Nikuk replied to Aaron Clinton's topic in SPL & SQ / Fabrication
Are you competing with the truck or the car? out of curiousity... -and- I sympathize about the events with you. There was not One certified dBDrag event in this State last year... Been making me think twice about going forward with my second car.
