Shoot me Your list... I'll plug it into excel and figure out a way to host it.

70 vac, 10.1 amps = 707.0 watts or 6.931 ohm *edit* Told yah the Mojo woulda been fine

Interesting: bbp6 is giving me an odd vent mach graph. Basically, You're vent is peakiest ~15-25hz. If that is accurate (I have NO experiance with SS drivers), then Your ssf et al will negate any problems. Weird... So, knowing that You know what You're doing, I'll list vent mach @ 25hz, unless it peaks higher in frequency. RMS per the SS site is 500, with the Brutus I'll imagine that You are using ~750wrms. Also, bbp6 considers 35m/s the audible floor.. anything less is good. For reference, in Your sig is 2.0ft, tuned 28hz w/30sq in of port. bbp6 calc's a vent mach of 8.32 m/s @ 25hz. 1.5ft, 3" pipe 14.5" long: 31.5 m/s @ 25hz 1.5ft, 3" aero 15.5" long: 31.2 m/s @ 25hz 1.5ft, 4" pipe 27.2" long: 18.6 m/s @ 25hz 1.75ft, 3" aero 13" long: 34.3 m/s @ 25hz 1.75ft, 4" pipe 22.7" long: 20.7 m/s @ 25hz 1.75ft, 4" aero 23.7" long: 20.5 m/s @ 25hz 1.75ft, 5" pipe 36.7" long: 13.3 m/s @ 25hz 2.0ft, (2) 3" pipes 22.7" long: 20.3m/s @ 25hz 2.0ft, 4" pipe 19.4" long: 22.6 m/s @ 25hz 2.0ft, 4" aero 20.4" long: 22.3 m/s @ 25hz 2.0ft, 5" pipe 31.5" long: 14.8 m/s @ 25hz 2.25ft, (2) 3" pipes 19.8" long: 21.8 m/s @ 25hz 2.25ft, 4" pipe 16.8" long: 24.1 m/s @ 25hz 2.25ft, 4" aero 17.8" long: 24.0 m/s @ 25hz 2.25ft, (2) 4" pipes 36.8" long: 12.6 m/s @ 25hz 2.25ft, 5" pipe 27.5" long: 16.1 m/s @ 25hz 2.5ft, 4" pipe 14.7" long: 25.4 m/s @ 25hz 2.5ft, (2) 4" pipes 32.6" long: 13.6m/s @ 25 hz 2.5ft, 5" pipe 24.2" long: 17.2 m/s @ 25hz 2.5ft, 6" pipe 36" long: 12.1 m/s @ 25hz Side note - f3's. With the 1.5' box, the f3 is 26.65hz. With the 2.5' box, the f3 is 28.78hz. In summary, keep in mind that this prorgam, while better then some others, is still a lump sum calculator. Hope this all helps. Nick

hee hee hee, sorry. Got awefully sidetracked last night. Lemme know which box ideas You want graphs for I'll be in & out all day, but I;ll get 'em up. Soooory. -Nick

www.ldsg.com That covers more about the back emf then the dampening... but it's the same topic - just fromthe woofer side instead of the amp side. Hope it helps.

the loading wall - Yes it can help in non-extreme classes. Usually, they are not needed in street / daily type boxes, as You won't 'hear' the difference. The other thing, it's hard to get them to show a benefit in street type comp. classes, from what I understand. I spent a few days trying it with my stroker in the trailblazer... after 10+ attempts i'd gained 0.2 or so. Dampening... basically the electromagnetic design of the motor (like any electric motor) has feedback voltage. The dampening factor of the amp can cancel / absorb that back voltage... allowing more efficient use of the power that the amp is putting into the woofer. Lemme find a link, I suck at explaining LoL

werd, hccafan / shane is the man. 1200D prices are up though... $350 iirc. But BNIB from the factory w/1year authorized warranty.

whatever..*cough*remembered where it was and was already uploading*cough* but thanks anyway... 30mm HEI testing this is the gun and ammo used in the a10 thunderboltII, commonly referred to as the "warthog" about the gun...it's called the gau8 avenger cannon...6 barrels of wholesome goodness...with magazine (about 1300 rds) it's bigger then a vw beetle...i'll get that pic uploaded soon... that's the department i normally work in...the making of the 30mm rd.. enjoy... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee <{POST_SNAPBACK}> God Bless Our Soldiers.

hey, while You're on the phone... GET ME TWO T3's for cheap!

They are finally recalling them for the taillights?! Bout Time! YOu don't even want to know about the main bearings in those puppies. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> meh, they recalled 'em a while ago... I'mjust now taking her in. main bearing probs in the straight six? umm... do tell?

bbp6 doesnt do a bad job of predicting it, but it doesnt account for emf ripple in the motor... nor does it account for the damping factor of the amp. Each of those things contribute to imp rise. As does port area, the shape of the box, and anything that effects the electrical Q of the woofer. It's hard to explain, and quite a bit of that is over my head as yet. To tell You the truth, I dunno why You have such a peak an octave above Your tuning / fs. Maybe we can get Dave Edwards to chime in on that again. To try to get it down, i usually try my hand at internal loading, or reflection boards, resin, upping port area. -Nick

werd... ..it works in theory of laminar(sp) flow

that was so cute... netherland was so excited to get the SX. Cool. I miss feeling like that... LoL

BP > alot if the time is taken to do it right... very few folks do, that's all. chinny - You want 900rms each? That's doable. Pick up a 2kw amp that lists a higher input voltage range.

You are not here merely to make a living. You are here to enable the world to live more amply, with greater vision, and with a finer spirit of hope and achievement. You are here to enrich the world. You impoverish yourself if you forget this errand. Woodrow Wilson 28th president of US (1856 - 1924) It's only right to do this in the IhOp.

If your the responsible type then set it up with a VM and you'll be cool, if your irresponsible then don't bother as you'll end up pushin her too far. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> [NO]. Orion amps do NOT like rca voltage over 5vrms or so. You crank that volume knob up (even with the gain at ZERO) and You will send a full 2500rms to the woofers. Trust me, I can't bring my deck past 34 (Pioneer 860mp 6.5v pre-amp). That is with the gain at ZERO, and the deck on a relatively flat EQ setting (for sub-range). Bigger subs or smaller amps. Imp. rise will help You some... but prolly not enough.

In the coming weeks, I'm going to need to install: MB Quart 5.25 component set, Orion 8002, Orion 1200D, and ReSX 15" into a Mazda 6. For anyone that has seen the stock HU on the 6, You'll know that I'm NOT replacing it. I'm not gonna cut and glass a new console cover for just a HU, not too mention that we would lose functionality of a in dash LCD display (showing ambient temp, radio station / disc info), as well as inset steering wheel controls. To top it off, this car belongs to somone who cares very little about the SQ & control gains of a nice aftermarket HU. Plan is to tap the rear door speaker leads and run them into an EQ/Xover preamp. I'd rather have a EQ/Xover combo that takes high level inputs, as I'm not a fan of LOC's. I only need a 2way xover and prolly an 11 band EQ. Maybe even an AudioControl piece w/linedriver... Please Discuss....
