oohh. assumjing that You have the recone parts: cut the spiders all the way around. Cut the coil leads as well. Pull the assembly out. You'll need to put ducttape or similar over the gap at this point, to make sure that nothing gets in there. Now grind, pry, scrape, cut, or dissolve the glue that is keeping the remaining bits of spider to the basket.

Well, I agree thats its prolly a combo of the two... if anything. You basically doubled power in the 40-45hz range. Along with decent gains in the 35-40 range
