SAZ-1500 vs. SAZ-3000
banginAltima replied to Wall_Breaker's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I would stay with two 15's over one 18. Also if you get two 1500's that equals 320 amps of current draw vs getting a 3000 with 300 amp of draw. Plus there is an awesome sale on 3000's right now, if you can swing it. If you get a 3000 now, most likely you will never need to upgrade. -
Competition Soundoff Sumter, SC Jan 24th

Will be there also.... -
I would also assume, that, by the time you get to the 2kd, the rise in coil temp has created some added resistance causing a slight drop in output, am I correct with saying that? Therefore, would probably be linear just like the 1kd to 1.5kd test. Also, when the 3k is in use, power compression might also play a part in this role, would it not? Thus, making the end results even more impressive to behold imo. There was a good bit of time between each test. (It pretty much took about 4 hours) It wasn't a swap and play, swap and play deal.

Look what I picked up from the Sundown Hq today...
banginAltima replied to banginAltima's topic in Sundown Audio
It should be close... if the .6 db gain I got from going from the 1500 to the 2000 works for the 3000. I should get 1.2 db putting me at a 149.8 -
No its not the toy tractor.... I got that for Christmas. Ha ha... I took an extra decal... Shhhh.... don't tell Jacob. Watch out Trunk 501-1500!!!!

Point the subs forward into the cabin and port the box toward the drivers side of the car. You can use Aero ports or a slot port. This is looking into the trunk from the cabin. (Derek Jackson's car)

I took some flex videos today. Not nearly as powerful as Meade or Assman, etc..... But not to bad for 2000 watts of Sundown power and two 15's that are 600 watt RMS from a trunk car. Playing Airforces by Jeezy. Can't wait to get my other subs so I can get more power in the car. http://s278.photobucket.com/albums/kk91/ba...rrent=Flex1.flv http://s278.photobucket.com/albums/kk91/ba...rrent=Flex2.flv Edit: It looks better in person.

Hey now, I think my PR is pretty good. It is.... but I imagine it gets annoying answer the same questions again and again plus if you didn't have to answer questions think of all the things you could build. ***insert mad scientist laugh here*** True So, can you email me a job application? lol I can fill it out and bring it with me Friday. lol

Hmmm, what do you think if I shortened the width and height? 36 wide, 14 high, and 20 deep? For my Nightshades. Is this for 12's or 15's? Edit: Nevermind Dual 12" Yeah, I went back and found it.... I would do something like 25 wide by as tall as you can by as deep as you need. Subs forward side ported. Push the box back all the way against the inside of the trunk on the passager side. As soon as I can I am going to rebuild with that type of box. (Subs forword and side ported).

I am beginning to think Jacob needs a PR person....

40 wide by 22 deep (I think) by 15 or 15.25 tall. It's bad the 40 wide is the only one I am sure about.
-
Very simple design.... 16.5 by 16.5 by 26ish. Sub forward side ported. Should still have half your trunk space.

One Z 15 in a 3 cubic foot box with some aero ports would give you some good daily beat.

Anyone game? -
I think one Sundown Z 15 would be a good sub. I don't think you would have that much of an issue running the amp at one ohms.
