    placement for new hertz speakers

you really haven't given us any of your goals? some ideas though: If you looking to improve the overall sound, sell both sets of components and get something better. or if you happy with one set, sell the other and put the money back in the bank what deadening have you done? if you haven't done much, check out sounddeadenershowdown.com. im sure you whole vehicle will need it.

only thing i've tried on are those crazy huge sony's.. http://www.amazon.co...c_df_B001RB24S2 felt comfy as fuck let me know what you find, i also looking for a pair but i'm not in a hurry to buy. I worry about headphones that say they are for "extra bass" the sony store had them hooked up a mobile dvd players so i didn't bother listening very much

what i was going to suggest. just built a pair myself. i'm using them as computer speakers. at least they will be once i finish building my desk. listened to a few songs and i think they sound pretty good. i have no reference to make a comparison besides my car audio system.

How terrible would it sound, if...

bad idea, any decent sub will be able to play up to 100hz without a problem. personally i would stop wasting money on cheap shit and do a proper install.

Yeah it was like 170, then 10 for plugin. which kit did you get? Originally 4way advanced, but it's setup for mono, not stereo. Got the 2-way advanced (MiniDSP_2wayAdv_105) today, and that's what you'll want. I can pm it to you, if you'd like. You can still do all the same stuff that the 4way allowed for. t/a delay per output, eq per output, and specific hpf and lpf combos for each output. Hell you can import a rew file. Which actually has me curious if I bought a relatively cheap mic, and did some testing, how much of a difference that would make. i really shouldn't pick up anymore projects right now. so fucking busy trying to graduate, take gre's, finish this research, and apply to grad schools. so maybe i'll wait till xmas.. i feel like you can do all the testing you need without a mic. and it would probably be more accurate. one reason is that when your using a mic your body is no long in the driver seat causing all sorts of reflections and crazy shit. i'm sure your aware of this since your have a kick panel install, just moving your leg around can change the freq. response quite a bit. if you go ahead and get it make sure you get one with a calibration file. i think there's a cheap one on PE, http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?partnumber=390-801. and one of these guys, http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?sku=522285&Q=&O=&is=REG&A=details

Yeah it was like 170, then 10 for plugin. which kit did you get? And now I think I misread lol. I got the 2x4 rev B. The rev B is set to work with higher input voltages, but you can open the case, and switch it lower (same as rev A), I believe. oh i missed the kits that come with a case. i was only seeing something like 150 in my cart after adding the kit, dc isolator, potentiometer, and shipping.

i'm thinking i really need to order me one of these minidsp's to play with.. only thing holding me back is a problem with a high noise floor and some alternator whine. the car should be dead by winter anyways... lol might be one of the few gm success stories in the HOP!

i haven't followed this stuff in a while. my pc is about 3 years old now. i regret not selling or parting it out after winning it. still runs games close to maxed out at 2048x1152. this is what they did with $2500 in fall 09 http://www.tomshardw...g-amd,2415.html shame they didn't go with an i7 but i cant be too picky, haha edit: alittle info on new cpu's http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gaming-cpu-review-overclock,3106-4.html seems like ivy bridge is the way to go if your running multi gpu's

i thought i remember there being some problem similar to this on another forum. might have been a problem with the plug-in. doubt i'll find the thread.. probably buried in someone's build log. might be worth opening a thread on the minidsp forum, seems like they responds to problems quickly.

    2 6.5" vs 1 8"

raise the lpf until the subwoofers remove the gap in freq. response. this might fix your problem right now. btw, use your ears to set the filters, not the label on the amp. if it doesn't sound good then come back and talk about new speakers.
