why would those be a problem with the sub when clearly the problem is abuse/bad install?
-
I think nick points out in the tread i posted that its not necessarily the design (though it could be) but the parts used. basically, cheap parts sold to the build house result in some amps not performing to spec.
-
based on what? op didn't have any problems until he killed it.
-
got pics? sounds like it could be fixed pretty easily. mix matching parts is probably not the best idea.

you managed to get the tinsel leads so fucking hot that they caught the spider on fire! if the leads were shorting out and arcing that would be different, but like you said, the sub still worked. Nick (NDMstang65) explains in the thread i linked exactly how you screwed up. contact Fi they'll probably tell you exactly what nick explained in the tread i posted. thankfully you can just buy a recone. if any of the information i've said so far is incorrect i'm sure someone from fi will correct it in this thread.

Sony Xplode 10's - modifying enclosure

you'll probably lose power handling if you tune too low or make the box too large. can you find ts spec for the subs? -
is this a sentence?

Laptop "blue screen" errors
lithium replied to ricksi30's topic in Computers / Electronics / Music / Games
could be ram, run the windows memory diagnostic. you can find it in the search bar. -
if all but 1 had a coating then there's still no way for them to touch each other and short out

Fi responded to a similar issue occurring previously. give the thread a read, http://forum.realmofexcursion.com/subwoofers/73884-fis-response-burning-tinsel-leads.html

do they post ts parameters? last i've seen they smash some bullshit together and sell it. i'd rather get some "big brand" shit then their so called custom subs.

Looking to stop some rattles, have no sound deadening yet (pictures/56
lithium replied to hatrix's topic in Sound Deadening
read everything on sounddeadenershowdown.com contact don at SDS for some help with out much you'll need to buy, he wont sell you more than what you need to get the job done. typically 25% coverage on flat surfaces to stop resonance and ccf behind plastic panels to prevent rattles. if you want to prevent flexing, it's much more effective to use other products, not mass loading with expensive cdl tiles. -
jl advertises the hd and xd series as differential-balanced inputs. is that a case of false advertising or are they half assing the design?
-
Might not be too hard to find them used on home audio forums.
-
i think they're pretty much the same. not sure

partsexpress has a return policy of sorts but you cant damage or mark the speaker. madisound might have something similar. edit: sean covered the rest

That sucks... Daytime pics, finally... Do people on forums complain of inside wheel lift in the corners?Curious, morons on the snowmobile forums want a bump compliant sled and then they bitch that it handles likes shit. In reality they drive like pussies and no shit dealing with bumps means a higher CG. Not really from what I have seen. But I think most people know to expect this. You can get wider axle and front control arms to help. But most of the forums I go to are MX racing forums, and those guys expect wheel lift. I'd figure the same for those buying an "aggressive trail sled" but it seems that the ass draggers from the past that had no suspension have soured their views on how they use their body in corners. Was curious if it translated to land as well. I suppose the old 3 wheelers set the precedence though and although they couldn't lift it required body english to control. I have seen on some of the more casual riding forums that people don't like the TRX450, but they tend to be more of the ute rider rather then the sport rider. I tend to steer clear of these forums, as personally I am aggressive in everything I do. Even though I hadn't ridden a bike of any sort for over 20 years, it took me 5 minutes on my son's new dirtbike to start thrashing it. So much so that he was in disbelief at how hard I rode it, end he has some pretty ballsy buddies he rides with. So it is more in my nature to seek out forums where the riders are more sport oriented. I have looked at a few Raptor/YFZ450R and the TRX450R based forums, and the rider base there is more prone to actually riding, rather then sitting on the seat and jacking the throttle. What I have found on these forums are real racers, rather then the casual rider who might complain about the work required to really ride it. So I guess it is more of an issue where I found riders, rather then just forums where people are getting into something they don't really comprehend. And to be honest, I got ahold of a bike that was more then I was able to comprehend. But I have ~5 hours on it now and I am pretty comfortable with it. Admittedly it still shocks the fuck out of me from time to time. My son rode it around the yard for the first time yesterday and said he wasn't quite ready for it. But he wants a stock 450 now... right after I bought him the damn dirt bike Friend of mine had a 400ex with some mods. Was riding with him the day i rolled a grizzly 700 and shattered my collar bone. pushed it a little too hard trying to keep up with him in the corner I'd rather have a bike over a quad.

7 or 6.5 wont matter in the doors. a 7 might have a bit more midbass but that depends on other parameters. a lot of raw drivers are really closer to 7inch mids anyways. the door panel will likely make it difficult for the woofer to play higher frequencies, so look for a tweeter that can play as low as possible. the only other option would probably be to put the wooders in the kickpanel, a lot more work and i'm not sure if its worth it.
