    The McGurk Effect

unless you're staring at your feet while driving i don't see a reason to cover the midbass up. perhaps the simplest test would be close your eyes while listening to music. does it widen the stage? I'm guessing it will not. actually, when i tune my car i typically make sure the head in pointing straight (as if i were driving) and close my eyes. i'm not sure why i started closing my eyes while tuning, perhaps just to concentrate more..

    Midbass selection

only shallow 10s i can think of, off the top of my head, are the dayton and TB on partsexpress. cant find the daytons, must not carry them any longer. TB's http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?partnumber=264-862
  4. watt for watt, in a car audio install, you will not notice a difference in sound quality when comparing most "decent" amps.

    amp for xcon 10

big 3 is always a must. after that it will depend on your listening habits. a lot of bassy music like dub step or rap will draw more power than rock, for example.

Bill Cosby can not be lumped in with those morons! You have never seen him in his prime. i saw this and it was ok but nowhere near will ferrell funny Red Fox and Richard Pryor or two othe good ones. I think the problem today is people expect over the top crap that is on the border of trash. awesome comedians right there! Richard Pryor was the king though! i've seen lewis black, jim gaffigan, and brian regan live. all were pretty great. would really like to see dave chappelle

    Installation Question

deadener should be used on the flat metal to dampen panel resonance. you would also want to seal any access holes in the door. most methods use fiberglass, plastic, sheet metal, etc.

    Installation Question

use a jig saw build something like this but make sure to seal the mdf so it doesn't absorb water

  11. missed that he tried another speaker. disregard my post OP unless you wired both subs wrong
  12. lithium

    Installation Question

sounds like you need to make some solid baffle for the speakers
  13. you wire the sub's coils out of phase? it would still read the same resistance but wouldn't produce sound.

    understanding components

well whatever might be the problem your speakers are trying to tell you that something is wrong. you would probably want to look into it or just keep the volume down on those songs.

either installed incorrectly or you're over powering them... or a combination of things.

    Building my first.

speakers would require a 4 channel amp and processing. why are you interested in them in the first place? a 15 in a center console build sound like a tight fit, have you calculated your available space?

i really like my nexus 7 planning to use the pogo pins on the side to do a dash mount in my car
  22. who cares? you wont be able to tell any difference if the actual power they put out only varies by a few hundred watts
  23. got some pic? i got a kicker 4 gauge kit in my car, no problems. bought it years ago however.
