    Help w New sound system

my opinion is that you can't design a system without understanding the environment in going in.

what FI sub would you reccomend

you can get a bl 18" and build your own box for half that. maybe less if you bought used.

what FI sub would you reccomend

basically, they're designed to be louder than the Q. The enclosure will determine the rest

what FI sub would you reccomend

should be running 0 gauge and do the big 3 as well

what FI sub would you reccomend

OP would have to double power to make a reasonably noticeable difference in output. 3000+ watts would require some electrical upgrades that will add to the cost. If he has the space it would be easier to go with a larger sub and less power.

what FI sub would you reccomend

if you goal is output you shouldn't have gotten the Q in the first place. i'd say go with a bl or btl and pick whichever size will fit in the space you have available. but make sure the box will fit first!

need more info! how much space do you have? what's wrong your current sub, what improvements are you trying to make? goals? music?

    honda accord trunk vent?

any mods that make the car less safe, just for the sake of improving bass output, are fucking stupid for a daily driver. there's probably a ton of better, safer options to improve output and scores

New Q 12 barely plays and bottoms out on low volume

have you tried swapping the sub with something else to be sure that the sub is to blame, not the amp or signal feeding the amp or settings?

    The McGurk Effect

Are you gonna completely redo your a-pillars or just try and cover the speakers with grill cloth to see if it makes a difference. Or will seeing the shapes in the a-pillars still make you believe speakers are there? I would reshape the a-pillars while using the same speaker placement. I would also cover then entire pillar so the speakers are covered. I may do this idk yet. but if it looks any less than stock you'll know the speakers are there. i don't see the point.

have you tried laying the rear seats down? have you moved the box around in the trunk or changed its orientation (port forward, back, left, right, etc) ?

nice sounding 6.5's for under $200

that fullness is achievable with a properly installed front stage.
