Need to upgrade front stage 6.5 evils?
lithium replied to logan_searching's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
i wont make a tweeter suggestion, other guys are better at that but for amps check out the ppi 900.4 or any of the variations from nvx, polk, etc. Lots of power in a really small package. I think SSA carries the nvx version. The big 4 channel from us acoustics looks nice too its a bit larger. -
Congrats

Sure thing. Need to get things updated. I should have got this stuff around earlier but I was too optimistic on how things were shaping up for next year.

Managed to survived a couple layoff this year except today. Sean, I'll probably pick your brain about NVH jobs here in the future.

High amperage fuse question
lithium replied to SpeakerBoy's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
you fuse for the wire. if the draw over that wire is higher then the wire is rated for you need more wire not more fuse. -
im guessing you would need binaural audio. not sure what the best way is for you to record it.

working on a similar project. went with the daytons and grabbed the prefab box from PE when they were on sale. drivers dropped in without issue. I'll mess with the enclosure volume and tuning as I go. unfortunately, the project is on hold as I'm having issues with the amplifier. I tried to DIY it with a 4 channel sure amp board and power supply from PE but its really noisy. Not sure what I'm going to do with it at this point, troubling shooting points to the amp/power supply as my Dayton dta120 (that I use for my TriTrix MTM towers) is noise free. I might have to cut my losses and return the amp and take a hit on the power supply since i scratched up the bottom pretty bad. I also need to figure out the Active XO. My original plan was to use my pc and some software to do it but windows will not output audio to multiple devices at the same time. So I'll be grabbing a minidsp.
-
sean, do you run balanced minidsp's for the higher unbalanced output?
-
might address your issue with finding a good screen.

I got a clarion hu here that can do a 2way + sub active XO. would be sweet if that works for the monitors.

I just picked up a dell 8" tablet that runs windows 8. Might be a good option for car pc. Though you might want the new version with 4 gb ram. I heard there are ways to add similar function as what you get from timur's kernal for the nexus 7 (turns on when car ignition turns on and sleeps when car off. etc). OTG works for charge and data too.

I thought i could use Equalizer APO to output to a pair of behringer 202's. I can do all the xover and stuff for each channel individually though. Should have choosen a 4 channel sound card I guess. Windows 10 is the OS.
