Playing around with some new toys... Training my ears?

i really need to clean up my amp install as well. two 2 channels mounted to the rear deck and 3 more under a false floor. might pick up a pair of ppi 900.4 to replace the four front stage amps. 450 x2 @ 4ohm would be great on the midbass. -
you could power a head unit with something like this power supply for indoor testing http://www.parts-express.com/power-supply-regulated-3-12-vdc-2a-6-way--120-536

most places in PA require you to be 25 but there might be some exceptions.

The doors are already pretty well deadened, though considering the upcoming application more may very well be necessary. How much power are you running to yours? I'm fairly certain the 125.2 on them at 8 ohms just won't be enough to get the midbass job done as well as it could or should be done. i'm running a kicker kx250.2 bridged to each. plenty of power imo but i've heard of people using more. previously i was only using a single 250.2 powering both and they still could get pretty loud. that's 85 x 2 @ 4ohm or 250x1 @ 4ohm -
you could wait till you pick up whatever deck you decide to go with and use a power supply or battery to test outside the car.
-
you could pick up a mini dsp 2x4 unit for 100 shipped. it could be used in the car or end up in a home theater project if you decide to go with a hu instead.

thermal rating is probably the same but you would need to model it to see how low you can play it before it would bottom out.

http://www.parts-express.com/peerless-830667-8-paper-cone-sls-subwoofer--264-1102 yep thats it. i run them ib in my doors. need a good deadening job to keep the doors from rattling apart. i used modeling clay to strengthen up the baffle but it goes to hell after a year or so. going to try duct seal next. -

Correct sir. Here is a great price on one of the set's I have: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA02D08N0442 This is the set I want: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA1JX1181113 I thought about grabbing the 598's but I read that the 558s very similar. same driver, etc. http://www.headfonia.com/old-and-new-hd555-hd558-hd598/

I dont know much about headphones really but I would recommend sennheiser. I picked up a pair of hd 558 for about $130. Only gripe is that the cord came with a 1/4" jack and an adapter that is rather large. I decided to buy another cord for it but you could just hack the 1/4" off and solder a 3.5mm on. They do use an open back design, not sure how big of a deal this is for you. The isolation is fine but they do leak sound. I think aaron is a Sennhieser fan, he can probably speak more on it.

what kind of headphones you looking for, iem, circumaural, overear?

Well he lived his life 1/4 of a mile at a time. I guess he finally got that last time slip. I don't know if he was a nice guy or not, but he didn't deserve to be burned alive. I head someone else may have been driving? Porsches and fireball deaths for celebs are happening a lotlately. Ryan Dunn went out in his turbo 911 I think and just turned into a fireball. he was doing some benefit car show that day for the typhoon victims in the philippines. his friend was driving the car. shitty way to go.
