which one did you go with?

headphone output on the tablet sounds fine to me. output voltage seems pretty strong as well.

the battery life is pretty solid so I bet it would hold charge for several days maybe over a week. the ppi unit looks pretty good, i went the cheaper route with two 2x4 units. maybe you'll be able to do some external volume control with a rooted os. iirc sean found a way to do steering wheel controls which would include volume i would think... edit" mount idea http://www.diymobileaudio.com/forum/build-logs-project-install-gallery/157938-2013-wrx-nexus-7-install-no-hu.html

minidsp has a volume pot. for power im guessing there's a way to boot when vehicle is turned on. i started a mount but scrapped my plans. buying a new car this month http://i277.photobucket.com/albums/kk69/killwish/photobucket-29702-1376162086652_zps2b8dd230.jpg

permanent mount for the tablet or making a dock? I was thinking about modifying this dock (or using pins) for a dock set up http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009UQZPA0/ref=s9_hps_ft_g147_ir01?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=center-3&pf_rd_r=1EQF9EDV8JRP95JWD4XX&pf_rd_t=1401&pf_rd_p=1705902322&pf_rd_i=1001023771

we've bought multiple lcd monitors and shit from the guy. my friend got a nice lenovo that just needed an hdd.

another idea for a cheap laptop. http://stores.ebay.com/Gilco-4020 from what my friend told me this guy has a contract with the govt to sell off old hardware. most of the laptops will be missing the hdd but otherwise fine. core 2 duo is still a pretty strong cpu. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Dell-Latitude-E6400-Core-2-Duo-P8700-2-53GHz-4GB-RAM-INCOMPLETE-LAPTOP-/171194843023?pt=Laptops_Nov05&hash=item27dc01ff8f pull the os and hdd off that one and you got a pretty decent laptop on the cheap. there are few stores under similar names. gilco 4040 4030 4050 etc.

sennheiser hd 558 or 598

good idea. large formats like peerless hds are usually recommended. there might be a small format that works too if you cant fit a large format

for a barrier I guess you would want to get about 1 lb / ft^2. density just helps with thickness.
-
he's looking for a barrier not a to add mass to a panel or cld
-
1. throw out the rear speakers. 2. sound deadening 3. listen to some components until you find a pair you like. 4. bridge the 4 channel amp to the components
-
maybe they'll have some better tech in a couple decades

sean or anyone with a minidsp. did you use the linear 10k ohm pot or try a log pot?
