    Ulrisa's Volvo S40 Build

good job wit the deadening, personally i would have used slightly less on the roof, saving it for the trunk, rear deck, etc. irregardless its nice to see someone who's got the right idea with deadening and not going overboard like you usually see.

    Securing down my enclosure ?

in my trunk i just used velcro (hook side) on the bottom of the box. stuck to the carpet pretty well.. edit: just read your putting it in a Cherokee so skip the velcro.. nothing to stop box from flying around in that vehicle beside bolting that thing down

    Welcome to the IHoP

anyone have a favorite fiberglass how to guide? plan is to do pods on my dash for my 3 inch fullrangers.. looking for a list of materials and basic instructions. this is my first time FG'ing so i plan to practice by replacing the sound deadening that i used to seal up the large access holes in my doors w/ fiberglass panels.

it seems the mb quarts favor sealed boxes, ill boot up winisd later and see what thats about... i dont think we can do the 15, he is pretty set on just 12s. my concern with the audiopipes is that, from what i've read, is that they are really just spl subs... i havent really found a in depth review of them yet... that being said, they look pretty beastly but looks can be deceiving

need an amp and sub(s) for a friend's s-10. doing a blow thru but would like to use no larger then 12's... tried talking him into 15's but its a no go. 1 Previous products that you have used (i.e. amplifiers if its an amplifier question, etc) -looking for comparable output to my 12" AA arsenal on ~500 rms -previous set ups was a pair of rf p1 10s sealed behind the seats. however he's a tall guy and doesn't want anything behind his seat- hence blow thru. 1.5 other equipment installed -rockford p400.4 4 channel on the door and dash speakers. 2 Budgetary constraints -under 400 for sub and amp. wiring will be 4gauge knukonceptz w/ big three if needed (could run 0 gauge if you guys think we need to) 3 Vehicle which the equipment will be used in 90's s-10 regular cab (no back seat) -blowthru 4 Other products you have heard, but have not owned that you enjoyed & their install particulars. -see number 1. 5 Musical preferences -anything but would like decent output for rap 6 System goals -classic "loud on a budget setup", not looking to sound amazing, he doesnt have the ear for it anyways. -the sub or subs will be ported obviously 7 List any research you have previously done some products being considered so far -ssa dcon 12'" x2 ~$250 w/ a cadence txa-3002 (600rms) ~$120 -other subs could be fi ssd 10 or 12, ia 187 pair (wish he would do 15's... i wouldnt even ask you guys for help if he would let me do them... lol) maybe kicker l5/l7 off ebay... sundown SA-8 -other amps could be rf prime 500.1

Don't mess with the pioneers, I've had those before they're decent but not earth shattering. Get a pair of these.... http://www.vminnovations.com/product_3203/Audiopipe_15_Inch_2000W_Subwoofer.html The ipipe is the same as the txx-apx's and those are known to be budget beasts, hit hard take their wattage and have 3 inch voice coils... Here are 4 audiopipe 15's with about 500 watts a piece starting to move hair. You would be running half the subs, but in a lot less space With more power..... SHOULD BE PRETTY SICK...... your link is broken

thanks ill look in to them. i've also come across some mb quarts pwe either 12s or 15s. the 12s are 70 each and the 15s are 100 each... from what i've read they sound pretty nice, apparently they where based on an RF sub when RF owned mb quarts before they sold them... i hope i can talk him in to doing 15s.

Options for very shallow mount subs?

which? Sorry, didn't realize there was a 2nd page when I replied. I was referring to the SLS8 more than likely being better drivers than the RE. i thought that is what you meant, just wanted to make sure so i dont try swapping my sls8's out with the REs lol

alright so we got the amp in but the subs are sold out. looking for a pair of 10's or 12's ( or 15's, i know i said he doesnt want 15s but if theres a good deal on them then why not snag them up). budget is 250. goals are mainly output but also decent sounding ill be designing and building the box aswell

Options for very shallow mount subs?

peerless sls 8 are 4in mounting depth or dayton rs 8" is suppose to do ok for midbass duty and is shallower at 3.5in both about 50 bucks i run the sls 8s in my doors, as do many others, pretty much everyone's answer to getting big midbass up front.
  22. what size xcon and how many?

ported enclosure for 12" pg rsdc x2

bump with a question. should i pay attention to magnitude transfer function? comparing different boxes, i notice that the transfer function is less peaking with the rsdc's sq specs vs a box tuned higher.
  24. need some help to come up with net volume and frequency for this sub. my friend will be running 2 of them in a blowthru and space is not an issue. the gray line is the rsdc (2 of them) with 1200rms, the red is 2 12" AA arsenals w/ 600 rms, and the orange is 2 12" l7s with 1200rms you can get the specs from the image if you like pg recommended, according to someone on pheonixphorum.com, specs for ported are 2.5 cubes per sub tuned at 23.28 hz. (spl secs are .8 cubes and tuned very high... like 50 hz iirc...) as you can see i bumbed it up to 24.5hz. but i still think this looks very low. i also notice you run out of xmax @ 600rms per sub.
